Ahh, I like to hear people like this. They are 100 percent sure what they say is true. How can he say with 100 percent certainty that this creation was not divine and shows a purpose? His argument actually likely shows a purpose because the chances are almost impossible. He may be right but come on. We know hardly anything about this universe.
With the Elon Musk example, I thinking you are stretching your example. He has been extremely successful in many of his ventures, taking Twitter - X as his failure, is like saying Tesla was a failure - if you looked at it after a year in business. It takes time to turn a business around, a good businessman has to take risks, let a business go through hard times in order to transform it into a better business. Solar city has also not been successful. But the majority of what he has led has been world changing successful. I think you could have found a better example, there are plenty of delusional billionaires, that make poor business decisions - like Jeff Besos and Richard Branson.
I like how she used statistics and facts up until the point it was time to draw a conclusion. Statistics show that cohabitating before marriage increases the chances for divorce, and this increases as time goes on.
"What is going on with this Earth is flat thing?" -- A fundamental distrust in science has been exacerbated by declining education rates and increasing political... discourse seeking to push agendas that may not align with scientific fact. While scientists can't necessarily directly affect the latter two issues, they are fundamentally responsible for the former. We need more science communicators, and ALL communication with the public needs to be reconstructed to be oriented around the intended audience. Too often (all) technical trades engage their audience as though they were other technical colleagues, or readers of academic papers. Follow the fundamental principles of public communication - especially during crisis. Your responsibility is to meet your audience where they're at, not where you'd like them to be. If you can't do that - abstain from communicating. Find someone who has that skillset. You *can* make things worse through ineffective communication.
I would wager the odds of me existing right now are 100%. I collapsed the wave function and poof, here I am. Was I *really* here yesterday? Is there really a tomorrow? Now is when I exist…for now. That is all.

Daniel Dennett is very smart, and he was wrong about the two most interesting philosophical questions, both free Will and consciousness. Why anybody listens to what he says is a beyond me.

Escape velocity counts for an unpropelled object. If you'd carry enough fuel and you would generate enough thrust, you could escape earth with steady 1 mile per hour. The bigger the object you want to escape from, the more impractical this idea becomes, of course.
Should change the title to: Why there must have been an intelligent creator - God. Or, how not believing in God takes a tremendous amount of faith - actually, an infinite amount of faith.
I remember marking a classmate's Asian geography exam in grade 7... he got 6% (3 of 50 countries or capitals). Not long after this, he explained to our science teacher how a four-stroke engine runs and what the different systems in a passenger car do (fan, coolant, air intake, fuel injectors, spark plugs, etc). That really opened my eyes and mind to the idea that intelligence doesn't always transfer across domains, and being intelligent =/= being informed.
The fact that TO THIS DAY, NO ONE can say what happened the first second of the “Big Bang”, and the fact perfect laws of math had to exist in the “matter” before “the bang” tells me all I need to know if we and the universe were designed. Believe in Jesus Christ as God and you will be saved.
God made primates and almost had it right..he then improved his vision of man ..we did not evolve from them..God went back to his pad and improved his idea thats all.
