@@brandenj27 I'm building one with the cab over sleeper for an F250. 90 " Long for the tub 82" Wide 144" Long over all. Again, great job. Can't wait to watch more of your videos.
Not sure what plywood you're using but that angle is very sharp. You may have to either flatten that curve or try using some ply veneer and layering it to make that turn.
It was 5mm lauan. Yeah they are to sharp. I did end up getting bendable plywood and it worked way better. I’ll probably post a video in a few days about it.
Hey, unfortunately I didn't film anything when I first started. Most of the framing is 1"x2" select whitewood glued and pocket screwed together. Than glued to 5mm Lauan making wall panels which I glue and screwed together.
All the roof framing and paneling warped pretty bad because my carport had a leaked causing water to pool on the unfinished roof. I think it turned out better the second time anyways.
Looking good. I've been working on mine for several years. Amazing how many of us have similar ideas but totally different approches to getting it done. I'm just glad to see anybody build, rather than buy, a modern camper. They are just total crap as far as I can tell. Home build is the way to go if you have any woodworking skills at all. I barely make that category but am going to be out in my topper-camper soon. Can't wait to see your finished product, and mine.
Thanks! I thought it was only going to take a couple of months to finish. Lol but it always takes longer. I agree, I much rather build than buy. I have just a little bit of woodworking skills. Good luck with your build! Looking forward to seeing yours done.
I have other videos where I do speak some but I am a very quiet person and it's pretty awkward to talk to a camera if you haven't tried it. I personally watch a lot of videos with no talking but I guess people are into different things. Have a good day!
Thank you. Sorry to hear about your garden. The heat you guys are dealing with is very unfortunate. I have to have everything on a drip system because we don't get much rain here in California and I have sandy soil.
hey Branden I came across your videos and reached out to you on IG. Im from another country and trying to find info as to how to grow successfully. I'm interested in learning how to build this auto clave as I want to produce mushrooms. Is it possible to DM you on IG again
Yes I did make them. The ribbons were made from conduit tubing but turned out to be to soft and bent. So I ended up replacing with paddles made from angle iron.
Couldn’t figure out how to reply to the original response - I’m RU-vid illiterate. The steamer is outdoors, you wheel it out into your lab (I gather), you haven’t experienced issues going from clean, to outdoors (possibly “dirty”), back into clean (lab)..? Just wondering about how to avoid things getting contaminated from going from outdoors to indoors..thanks for you feedback man!
Excellent! I’m curious - is this sealed pretty tightly to create any sort of pressure? In which case do you have any sort of pressure release valve or way of making sure it doesn’t burst..or does the steam naturally leak out / you have an exit hole? I’m assuming since you mentioned you run it for nearly 30 hrs it is atmospheric sterilization or “ultra pasteurization” (what’s your actual runtime to get ur sterilized if so)? Asking such questions because I want to build something very similar! Thanks, Branden.
Ross Gronvold no, it’s not a tight seal. The steam leaks from the door. Yes, atmospheric sterilization. I had been running it for 30 hours total but more recently I have been dropping the cook time an hour or two at a time to see what I can get away with. Also since this video have switched to bakery racks and run a lot more bags. So one boiler drum is a little under powered and I have been only reaching temperatures of 195F but still have been contamination free.
