It's Nakashi not paper mache. In kashmiri language they are KALAMKARI OR NAKASHI. Paper Mache artisans are those who make products out of paper and then that product is given to Nakashi for KALAMKARI.

Excellent documentary that provides an intimate view of the traditional art of paper mache that has been preserved in Kashmir. This is one more example of the beautiful cultural and crafts that are part of the living present in Kashmir.
