I own the Vibe 150 as well. I'm using it today to go to the park because I don't want my pockets full of stuff. That's kind of what I use it for. A wallet substitute or small man purse. Lol When I go back to the Philippines I'll use the same Vibe 325 as there is more room for essentials needed for a full day adventuring. Honestly if I could take both I would because the vibe 150 is perfect for going out to a restaurant or a club when you just need that little extra space for a battery bank maybe your earbuds. Idk I own both for a reason and use them for different things.

I agree with the blending kind, i dont understand why pacsafe feels the need to slap their logo in such conspicuous place. They should be more subtle. Im speaking on my cruise 8l bag.

Greeting from Taiwan. Thank you sir for the video, I didn't think of the weight restriction previously. I travel with wife and 3 kids so I'm usually the mule that carry everything. Had been eyeing exp45, but then downsized to exp35. I am only 173cm, and am wondering your comments on if it's safe to tuck this pack under the seat while on the plane, does it take away all the leg room?

Your comments resonated with me as I am also looking for a pair of travel shoes and do not want a full-on "hiker style" design. Thanks for the sizing tip and overall feedback. Let us know if you go on another Philippines trip with them? BTW, I love my Salomon Ultra GTX 3 as well- really comfy and light but they do look more hiker style.

Imo, this probably one of the most practical in the party box series. Soundwise it beats the Encore essential and the 110....wait, did he just say the 110? Yep, even beats the 110 for clarity. Yes the 110 is louder with more bass but the Encore has better clarity overall. I wouldn't pair this with the Essential version as you will have a very noticeable imbalance in sound quality. I think JBL tuned this more for vocals like the 710 which might given reason for the better clarity over the 110 and Encore Essential.

Hello Bryan, could you connect this party box to the tv to watch the karaoke lyrics with you tube? Maybe connect your phone to the party box and the tv ?

There is a headphone jack aux in on the party box. So as long as you have some sort of output on your TV that you could convert to a headphone jack your set!

Buy a mesh laundry bag to use when dropping off your clothes.

That is going on my packing list for my next trip! I was pretty tight to my weight limit but a mesh laundry bag would be super light and there is a few things I could get rid of that I definitely did not need bring with. Thanks for the tip.

Hi Brian, very interesting video. I need something for karaoke at home for my wife who loves to sing. Here in Italy the encore cost 290 euro with only 1 mic 😅. I like the jbl because i can enjoy also for listening some music. But i've 2 question: for the same price maybe a couple of normal cabled speaker from Yamaha or Bose or else can deliver a better sound quality (without karaoke ofc)?? Can i use this speaker cabled or i will ruin the battery? Thanks a lot
@brian_bingham
@brian_bingham 7 месяцев назад
Well that's a bummer it only comes with one mic! The JBL is a pretty awesome speaker. I'm very happy with it. I was just practicing a new song on it last night. Finding an alternative is a tough one though. If you go to Yamaha or Bose you'll be stepping up from a consumer grade JBL to a pro grade speaker. I have a Yamaha Stagepas 200 BTR but it's double the price. A Bose S1 Pro is more comparable in price but still more expensive. I'm not sure what all you have for available speaker brands in Italy but you could look for something like an Ion Audio Pro Glow Ultra or even something like the Ion Audio Block Rocker: amzn.to/3Hch7K5 I don't think it will be comparable to the JBL sound quality wise but it is a cheaper alternative. As for the battery you can run it plugged in but I wouldn't recommend keeping it plugged in all the time. The battery lasts a really long time anyways. I bought the JBL in late November and I'm still on it's first charge. I think over time if you didn't let the battery charge and discharge you'd kill the battery life faster. I know I tend to destroy my laptop batteries by leaving my laptop plugged in on my desk all the time. Also I will note that there are some good Italian speaker manufacturers like RCF and FBT but I don't think they make anything similar. They are both really expensive brands in the USA but maybe they are less expensive when you buy them locally in Italy. FBT does have the Amico system but that's probably overkill for what you're looking for. Good luck and let me know if you buy something different!

@@brian_bingham Hi thanks for the answer, for sure I'll take the JBL encore. I already have the jbl flip 4 and i'm very happy with that. I think the encore is a big upgrade for the sound quality🙂!!! I will not use it plugged-in, the battery it's ok for me. Just I'm worry if something happens to the only mic😅...

Awesome! I'm glad to hear it. Still too bad they only give you one mic though. I wonder if you can add a second one later if you want two? Also awesome that you were in the concert production biz! I actually have another channel on RU-vid called: TheAngrySoundTech That's where I talk about pro audio gear. I actually make my living as a sound tech. Mostly corporate events these days but I did do some concerts back in the day. I started this channel recently as more of an open format talk about whatever I want whereas my other one is strictly pro audio.

If you choose one between Tomtoc & Pacsafe Sling Bags What you will choose and Why please?How many bag liters in your personal preference in Sling bags please?
@brian_bingham
@brian_bingham 7 месяцев назад
Personally I like the security features of a Pacsafe bag. That's the main reason I choose to use their bags. But if I didn't need/want the security features I'd have no issue using a TomToc sling. I haven't purchased any TomToc bags so I can't give a review or recommendation on them but they have some nice ones. If I was to buy one for myself I'd probably buy the 4 Liter Explorer for an every day carry sling. My preference would be that 4 to 6 liter range. As i said in this video 10 liters is a little too big for an every day carry in my opinion but it's perfect for travel.

For your pasport, creditcards and large money i wouldnt use one of those neckbags. They show you are hiding sonething. A thief recognizes the strap around your neck. I use a wallet that attaches to my belt. I can tuck it under my jeans or shorts and against my hip. It's barely noticable and you won't really feel it. I used mine in almost 70 countries.
@brian_bingham
@brian_bingham 7 месяцев назад
I'll have to look into a wallet like that. I did have one of those belts with the zipper on the inside where I kept a copy of my passport, 1,000 pesos and $100 US. But that was for emergencies in case I got robbed.

You probably get a dozen plastic bags in the first few days of shopping in the phils. Put your laundry in there. I just returned and i'm looking into this backpack. I nearly got mugged on my last night so i need a bag with more security. Some glue sniffing teens started harassing me in Makati. I had missed my flight due to an earlier delayed flight and needed a hotel in the middle of the night. And rooms are expensive when you just show up. "Only premium deluxe suite available sir." So i shopped around a bit They harassed me for money and started pulling on my bag while i walked. They opened the zippers a bit. I threatenend them with a beating and they left but still. I was a bit afraid they would return with a bigger group. Also a safety bag would protect against hotel cleaning ladies or other staff. Or when you bring a date over. 😊
@brian_bingham
@brian_bingham 7 месяцев назад
That's a bit scary. Luckily I didn't have any close calls. But the bag is nice for room security. But I will say depending on where you stay some places just don't have anything secure to attach the arm strap of the bag to. I was lucky in a few places to be able to wrap it and lock in around the bed but even that isn't the best. Had the same problem with my backpacking clothesline. Some places just didn't have anchor points for me to hang it.
@ikealamp53
@ikealamp53 7 месяцев назад
@@brian_bingham You can use a hook on a suction cup for that. Attach to a door or glass. Or one of those hooks that you can hang on the top of a door. You know, for hanging a coat. Usually, they have multiple hooks but you can cut off the excess. Personally, I never handwash. Washing is cheap in most nonwestern countries plus they often iron and fold it too. But I'm a pretty big packer so I don't have to do more than once a week.
