First two knuckles, aligned with the wrist, standard hand position for boxing, etc, just have to keep the width in the wrist because there's no added support. I think I went over that part before we put gloves on where I show how to stack the bones. Thanks for watching and for the comment. Take Care - JVC
Bando doesn't get a lot of attention so most people have never heard of it. Bando is a system of martial arts originating in Burma. It has systems of kickboxing, weapons, traditional MA techniques, and systems of yoga, to name a few. Its like studying more than one style at a time. Thanks for the comment.
absolutely. that's the point of that drill. A for real single leg or anything like that its a lot harder to defend, especially at that range. This is just a guy grabbing at your leg. Single or double leg defenses we stick to the BJJ/wrestling classics. Thanks for the comment.
I must be doing things a lot like you-- because I was a bodyguard/anti- terrorist specialst with the govt.- and my kenpo (I'm a 5th dan) has ALWAYS been very effective- even though I was constantly seeing folks tell me it isn't. (but I have a 4th Hapkido, 4th tenshin aikido, black sash in wing chun, and teach jeet kune do too)... ALL my arts are VERY effective.. which just goes to prove YOUR STATEMENT- it's HOW you do it!!! I use to say- It's NOT the art- it's the ARTIST!!-- and you and I have proven that. (over 1000 encounters on record during my duty and only 2 losses).
This is great - definite differences from the way I initially learned the technique and love everything in your breakdown - most specifically the pin at the end and it not being an arm lock. I think yours is much more effective. 👍
Excellent demo! I really like the idea of dropping my knee on the ankle from behind like that. Going to work it into some of my existing drills. Thank you, Sensei.
This is dumb technique dawg, have you ever been in a knife fight man? You don’t act all karate kid, you hack and poke with all your strength so that they die, not get a flesh wound. Stick to Karate man you look like a dork with the knife.
I totally agree with you liked your video. Doing martial arts and working hard towards a black belt. Makes you a happier person. Doing martial arts makes you work harder and smarter and other things in life also.
I thought lone kimono used the step n pivot 4 hip power (not just horse from ft 2gether ) 2 get force from a stable position applied from legs hips n weight n apply force 2 weak points n limbs
It's nice to see Mr. Nackord thriving. I remember doing these drills when I was a purple belt in the King of Prussia Plaza school in the late eighties. Invaluable lessons. Thanks Dennis!
But you are practicing that against a guy who has his hand just hanging my his waist. That is common in all these kenpo videos. The opponent throws 1 punch and the other guy throws umpteen trillion attacks without the guys responding at all. Jeez. Have the guys put his hands up. 🙄
Hi Ben, thanks for your input. Would you be so kind as to tell me what the joke is? I am sure you have in depth knowledge of martial arts with a keyboard as your best weapon. Thanks again, Dennis Nackord
@@dennisnackord6709i'll tell you. You are practicing this with the guy just standing there with his hands down. Every video of kenpo is i see is like this.
Thank you, Sir! Been learning this for a lifetime. Over time I've added times when I get my head of the centerline and using a vertical punch to get through my opponent's guard.
