Great flight! Just finished my TB40 ... I'm using the microbeast that came with the combo... biggest heli I have flown is a BNF 180fusion so do you have any advice on RPM, and transmitter settings to begin with? Is there a standard download available for it? I'm using a Spm NX6
Definitely a good idea to take pre-assembled components apart to ensure proper lube and thread-lock. I once found so much thread lock in the feathering shaft it actually made the thrust bearing inoperable, thought it was a bent shaft, but it was not enough grease and too much tl
Hi Duncan , you are unboxing the 6S version right ? What Battery are you using (6S, C rating and Capacity )? Can you say something about the flight time ?
Nice review! I don’t even know that they’re was a TB60 I was looking for the TB70 and I discovered the TB60, cool. Align is using a drive belt from the motor to the main gear, that should reduce a bit of noise and plus a tail belt drive, interesting, I haven’t bought one yet and I like it a ready!😊
I felt like I went to the ballet watching that instead of a head banging rock concert some 3d pilots do. I truly appreciate the precision. I enjoyed that very much.
it's been about 20 years since saw a new kit, all the main component's are ready preassembled. may be a 2-4 hour build at best? I am guessing that the longest part of the build is dial indicating the fan to the engine or have they improved those components to line up better?
Yes some parts are pre-assembled, but things like the rotor head / tail rotor assembly are still loose and require checking and re-tightening with thread lock. The kits have definitely improved since then, so you should find things fit together a lot more accurately!
@@duncanosbournheli I was just saying that because when I built heli it would take me hours just to do the rotor head and anything that had gears would take the whole night, and then the fan to engine alignment, omg that was just insane to get it under a thou.. to me it looks like they have taken all the complex assembling out of the hands for todays users. ie the components that wear out faster then they are suppose to when not assembled correctly. I was a miniature aircraft man back in the day Fury extreme was the beater helis as the only way to make them fly straight was finger skills. and the X-celll se was the middle of the road for a mellow day out. My fuel goal backthen was to burn 2k of fuel per season, or about 20 boxes, and each box had 6 jugs and or gallons of 30%.
One of my first real 3d Heli contests I went to. I had my routine down, got to the line, and lit the Perfect Blue sky with a line of fire from the nitro smoke, fell into the Piro terminal line, into real Piro Hurricane with the transition onto the other side of the Piro Hurricane was the start of the show and then into all the other basic stuff that every Heli guy knows. I literally blew the Judges out of their chairs, show center and all. they thought I lost control (because of the violent Rotor noise the Heli makes under those extreme conditions) and gave me 2nd place and only cause they said I saved the Heli from hitting them. I told them I had the Heli under complete control. The guy that they gave first place to offered me his Trophy saying that my flight was light years ahead of anything that anyone had ever seen. Told him.. no you keep it was the Judges final call. Best time of my life.
Absolutely Amazing flight..👏🤘.....it's nice to see you back, better than ever...👌...(long time ago (3D masters 2010!!),you signed me a blade,2 or 3 years after, still in venlo,we ate at some KFC with your dad and a friend of yours (i do not remember his name but he was a very good pilot)...this were very GOOD TIMES....🙏
looping your video and I remembered what it was like flying those machines. After i flew my Heli's people that were spectating would always be blown away, and almost always had the same comment, "How do you follow it when it is so fast?". I would aways reply, "It's so slow how can you not process what the machine is doing." Took about 10,000 hours of flying RC Rotary wings to process what they are saying. read some information on the subject matter, found out that when the Human brain is processing huge amounts of data (ie Extreme 3D Heli) that time dilation of the event literally gives the perception that the Heli is moving slower. Very interesting topic the article that I read 20 years ago stated that not all humans are capable of this brain activity. something like 20%. Anyways enjoying your skills.
Hey can you do a demo of a Pirro Hurricane? starts with a Pirro Funnel and gets tighter and tighter until either your skills fail, or the machine set up. if you wish to learn this and or build a Heli that can do it, my bet is you will require lower gears and smaller mains by the sound of your Heli. anyways it's a pretty cool looking and sounds even crazier. Nice flying skills by the way. But Honestly it looks the best entering from super high free falling Pirro line strait into the Pirro Hurricane with transitions in a flat 8 pattern. you wanna see what cool looks like, the Hurricane Pirro transition. tuff. :)
Nice mate,I have the same tx,just need to set it up with the trex150,could you do a video of the jr dsx9 on how to set it up for helis.looked on RU-vid but no one does it.i bought the jr dsx9 second hand, just a bit confuseing.the wife has got me the trex150 for Xmas so just need a bit of help with it pal.if you can do a video that would be great help cheers
Thanks for your reply, thought it was you. Was at the 3D champs standing behind you when you and your grandad got your awards :-) well done buddy! Hope to meet you at a show this year.. Keep up the hard work!! :-)
Duncan Osbourn i think out of all the pros your the best out there and you seem like a nice guy and also being from my favorite country to England, i hope someday to visit it
Damn that dude was havin some trouble with that canopy lol. Btw you should always let the fbl unit initialize on a flat stable surface. Not while ur having issues getting the canopy on lol.
Thanks for your observations - yes small canopies can be fiddly! I was at first concerned myself but it seems the MRS system will initialise in any attitude. Just need to check for level swash before flight and correct swash control direction. The model flew fine as you can see, and has continued to do so in subsequent flights.
