It looks like you are railfanning along UP's Portland Sub a lot right now. Honestly speaking, as much as really love Providence Hill, I prefer railfanning UP over BNSF any day just because I find their trains way more interesting and livery much nicer. When you had railfanned there on this and on a number of previously uploaded videos, did it appear that volumes could have increased or have they remained the same?
Yeah, I agree, UP has more things to see, especially since the CPKC Trains run on there too sometimes. I feel like the number of trains was little higher than normal that day but I could have gotten lucky too lol. Tomorrows video is the Katy Heritage Unit leading an Intermodal and then it's back to BNSF lol. Thanks for Watching!
Nice long mixed freight on the Ayer Sub of 168 cars. Interesting to see the five-set of intermodal cars considering this line sees no intermodal trains (it would be pretty if those kind of trains showed up on this line but that seems very unlikely). This is a line that is very scenic from Lethbridge in Alberta through BC, Idaho, Washington, into Oregon which I wish could see more trains. There was talk years ago (Trains Magazine) of making this a line heavy with oil trains, but that also never came to fruition (although some oil trains do travel this line).
Yeah, the CP has Trackage rights for all the Ayer and Portland Subdivisions. This Manifest was coming from Hinkle and going to Eastport, ID where it Interchanges and becomes CPKC 464. Thanks for Watching!
My dad saw an MRL in Montana on the move when he was moving to Florida Funny how they fell on a new year As a wise railfan once said New year new railroads go bye bye (I’m that wise railfan)
