I was just 14 when this very sexy song by this super sexy and talented lady was released. I had also seen this performance on TV and was totally and hopelessly in love with Maria and wished that I could make love to her like the song lyrics describe. It didn't help that I was lying out in a lounge chair in the Warm, balmy breeze under the full moon at midnight in Palm Springs after a dip in the hot tub. What awesome memories. This is a low key incredible performance. Her voice is so good and the way she carries this song is something only a seasoned professional could pull off.
This is one of the worst songs ever. There's a reason I never heard of it till I was in my 20s, on a commercial for 70s music with some other songs that were actually real good. This one didn't belong with the others. She sounds like she's dying.
Wonderful song that seemed to bring along its own baggage that evaded categorisation - it just provided, and still does, so many good feelings. She really was on great form in this performance. It's a beautiful gem.
