Why did they make the RS5 with a narrow boot ? Back in the early 90s we had the Audi Coupé - a two seat hatchback. Like the TT the rear seats are not the nicest place to be but the car does not have the practicality of the TT. The sportback is good but I don’t want four doors. A two door RS5 with a hatchback would have been perfect. Especially as the TT is too cramped for me.
I bought a lightly used 2020 30i (9k mi) earlier this spring, and I definitely think it's the "pick of the litter". The one single time I actually floored it was during the test drive. Oh, I get on it sometimes, for fun in sport plus, but the pedal never really touches the floor. I have to back off in real world driving. It's just plenty fast. I had an x3 M40i, so I know that incredible engine. But, it's too much power, in this roadster, for sane people. 30i is definitely the "sweet spot".
I'm waiting for my new mk8.5 full optional frozen white... I have also a GT86 and I don't think I'll change car next years....I don't like electric car at all...
C'mon, you're a smart guy. I can tell. Do you really think Lexus wants us to use that trackpad? That means we have to take our eyes off the road and fiddle around while traveling at over 100 feet per second. That's really dangerous. As for a touch screen, same thing. The second you take your eyes off the road, bad things can happen and they often do. Sometimes it is necessary to do this but the less time you spend looking at buttons or screens, the safer you are. Therefore, Lexus came up with the most perfect way possible in this day and age. All we have to do is talk to the car. It's called VOICE COMMAND and you're much too smart not to know about this. The trackpad is only there to input your personal preferences when you run MENU/SETUP. After that, it is very rare that you'll use the trackpad. My 2018 is an awesome car and I haven't used the trackpad more than ten times in four years. I can call wife or any of my contacts. I can text them. I can find an address. I can find any kind of restaurant. I can listen to any music or radio station. I can check on traffic. I can control the climate in the car. There isn't much I can't do. One of the few things is warm or cool the seats but by saying "Show Seat Warming Screen", the infotainment system gets me directly to that screen and then I look down for a split second and slide my fingers up or down the trackpad. Using CLIMATE CONCIERGE, I've never had to change a thing. So, wouldn't this have been a much better video...and certainly more fair to Lexus...to demonstrate just how wonderful the infotainment system really is and how simple it is to use? It's certainly not a bad feature of this car but if you don't read THE OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS because you think you know it all, then you haven't been fair to Lexus.
Love mine! Upgraded with a digital throttle controller and JB4 chip. Makes about 406 HP on a nice day. Good gas milage and super fun to drive and flex!!
Thank you for the most comprehensive review of the M140i.......so much so that your enthusiasm and fun compounded my 21/2 year obsession and I finally bought one. Not a day goes by without this car putting a smile on my face since March and I've blown my older brother away with jealousy. The wife was the cynic but at 65 even she loves it in Sport mode. Thank you BMW.
yeah she's got her charms the i3s is fun in it's own way that's why I getting the one I want when my lease is up on the one I have as I just don't want the dumb range extender so I am going for the no range extender version but I love that cars she's so much fun to drive
@@raven4k998 As you know when it comes to EVs range it really something you can't rely on... You think you have enough juice until you suddenly out of luck... My range extender saved my bacon a few times... It actually makes your car much more universal... like you have EV and hybrid all in one...
Love my 2019 and think the exhaust note may be better than the full M. Wish the interior lights were daylight instead of cool white but that should be anyone's biggest problem. Overall, great SAV and much more fun to drive than my old MDX Advance.
I've finally picked one up, they are hens teeth to buy over here. Lots around, just nobody getting rid of them. I also have an Elise, which I've had since 2002, and the Fiesta is nearly as fun as that to drive. We have the TT back this year, so Mad Sunday is going to be fun in this. Loved the video and bannaghtyn from the Isle of Man.
I have BMW i3 hard suspension it handles well only on Smooth roads, on bumpy normal UK roads it is unstable even in a straight line and the road noise on motorway drowns out the poor standard audio...
Just bought one last week in a Covid lock down in Sydney, lucky me! I have to agree with your assessment! So much fun to punt, comfortable, rides exceptionally well, relatively cheap, economical and even looks the biz. Love the FiST.
Brilliant , Brilliant and Brilliant review.. I'm.subscribed.. have you driven the trophy yet.. ? Isn't it a case that the 1.8 engine is more suited to a auto gearbox..
Great wrap up, have always really enjoy your thoughts across all the other channels. I have an exclusive build landing end of year to replace my rs3 as I need the extra family space. I think with modern cars you just have to factor into the purchase an aftermarket exhaust, cat back or otherwise. It’s a small price to pay to continue enjoying these ice performance cars until gov taxes us into ev’s
I just purchased a 2021 TT RS with almost all the bits. I haven't broken her in yet but....damn if this isn't a proper sports car. I was going for a C8 Corvette but GM. Yes, I blame GM for creating a nice car, then not being able to get it out on the street to customers. Totally their fault. But this TT RS is brilliant. My Brother loves BMW. He has an M car. We took it for a ride, and he was floored with how this car handles. The fit and finish are the best I've seen. I've owned BMW, Mercedes, VW. This is above what I had in those cars. I'm glad I found this alternative. Good price, gas economy, fit and finish, that sweet-sounding engine. I think this is a keeper
I have driven my 2009 MY 110 in all sorts of places on and off road...I love it. But the design and engineering is old. I could give you a long list of things that are wrong with it and that I only put up with for "romantic" not rational reasons: call it the style of "cool". I'll be buying the new Defender because it will do what the old one does and more. Land Rover brought us the Range Rover and from all accounts, it was regarded with equal cynicism.
