My favorite part is the intro, where the commissioner flat out said the game was over. At Halftime.
@RicktheTapDancer
@RicktheTapDancer 21 час назад
@@critch74997 that is because this was originally received as a VHS tape from the NFL. All of us who were in the show received a tape of the halftime performance about a month after the event. I originally uploaded this before RU-vid allowed videos longer than 10 minutes, so I had to load it as 2 parts.

Emily, you're right. However,sometimes I see teachers spell it falap just to emphasize the two sounds. I spell it flap, but I definitely say "fa-lap" when teaching. I like the step!

This is just a cincinnati
@RicktheTapDancer
@RicktheTapDancer Год назад
Hello Sarah, thanks for watching the video! Although similar, the Cincinnati has 6 sounds, the step I’m doing has 8. Many years ago I started calling it the Minneapolis when I asked multiple tap experts if the step already had a name. Although it has been pointed out that it is similar to the Cincinnati, the 8-sound version did not have a name. It is a step I do a lot and is a great groove step to sit into. So I named it after the city I was born and currently live in. Sometimes I do a variation of it where instead of a shuffle, I do an open third (or riffle, or scuffle, or whatever you might know it as) which gives me 9 sounds total. Another variation is to start with a heel drop on the standing leg, still 8 sounds but starts in a different place in the sequence. Instead of: dig, brush, heel, shuffle, heel, ball, heel It can also be: heel, shuffle, heel, ball, heel, dig, brush.

All you have to do is get a screw with the same size head & wider part that goes into the heel & it will fill up the space that was stripped.
@RicktheTapDancer
@RicktheTapDancer 3 года назад
Thank you for watching and posting your input. I could see your way working in theory. Although, the way I am showing has a stronger hold. If you are backstage at intermission, the screw came out during the first act, plus you’ve got a show to finish... you’ll be glad you learned this pro tip. Are you the type of person who packs the thicker screws with the same size heads on them in the shoe repair kit in your dance bag? Use this if it is handy for you. Hopefully your screws stay perfectly set in your shoes and you won’t ever need it. Keep groovin’.
@lisab0428
@lisab0428 3 года назад
@@RicktheTapDancer actually I carry different shoes & everything I need to repair them. I learned the hard way during a performance & did not have time to take off the tap. I then started to carry both screws & 2 types of screwdrivers. I also have a hammer, a sewing kit complete with dental floss for those repairs needing heavy duty attention. 🙂
