Robert, The Prima will dock at the cruise terminal formerly used by Royal Caribbean. It will be either at terminal 25 or 28, which are next to each other. The parking shuttles will take you to the correct terminal. For more information you can look at the maps on the Port of Galveston's website: www.portofgalveston.com/91/Cruise-Parking--General-Information For shore excursions for your cruise please take a look at: pe.tours/MzM5MTIx/ I do receive a small commission for those who book through the link. Thank you
Only parking information, thank you! I'll take a look at it! I am flying in for my cruise! Sadly even the NCL site doesn't even list Galveston TX as one of their ports! How ill prepared Norwegian was to move a ship here! Especially if on the Norwegian's own site has little information to describe what to expect at the port and provide what is required for both parking and flying in booked passengers!
@Robert Greenhouse it's a shared cruise terminal. Disney Cruise Line, Princess and Carnival use the two older terminals. Royal Caribbean only opened their terminal in November 2022 which allowed Princess and NCL an opportunity to use the existing port facilities.
@Robert Greenhouse if you are flying in I recommend flying into Hobby (HOU) as it is much closer than IAH. I also recommend arriving a day before the cruise and staying on Galveston Island. Last year the bridge between Houston and Galveston was under repair and caused a massive delay and many people missed the ship.
This cabin is away from the dry slides that cut through the corner balconies in the back. There was no noticeable noise from above, but that doesn't mean you won't have someone in the cabin directly above you dropping things while on your cruise. I always try to make sure when I book people that I select cabins that are not directly under the buffet or outdoor areas to ensure the room is quiet as possible. Another tip for a quiet room is to make sure you don't select a connecting cabin unless you need both connecting cabins. The connecting doors are likely not as soundproof as the walls. Check out the following website for shore excursions on your cruise: pe.tours/MjI1Mzg3/
The ship is spectacular. Hopefully I will upload the cabin tour of my balcony cabin soon. I also have some photos from one of the Haven rooms. Even the inside cabins are super luxurious. It is my new favorite ship which is saying a lot since I've been on the Carnival Mardi Gras, Virgin Voyages Scarlet Lady and the Royal Caribbean Odyssey of the Seas which are also all new since last year.
The closest parking is the premium lot, which is covered. There should be handicap parking in all lots, and of course, they run shuttles from the parking to the terminal. For more information, you can go here: www.portofgalveston.com/91/Cruise-Parking--General-Information
Yes. I have recorded all the footage. There was some B-Roll I used from Royal Caribbean with the Allure in the Ocean in earlier videos since it hasn't visited Galveston before.
Actually the Allure of the Seas will be sailing from Galveston on November 9th, however this is a trade event and will not be open to the public. I was invited, however I already had another cruise booked and will be unable to go. I will however be on the inaugural of the NCL Prima from Galveston on October 27th.
@@SuperbVacations We were booked on the repositioning cruise for Allure. It was supposed to be an 8 day, Southern Caribbean cruise from Fort Lauderdale to Galveston, but RCCL cancelled that. So we rebooked the Nov 13th voyage from Galveston. I'm figuring the the Nov 9th cruise is for travel agents, cruising associates, friends and family etc etc etc to help break in a revised/new crew? Do you know what Day/Time does Allure arrive into Galveston? I'll be amazed if there isn't still plenty of construction going on at the new Terminal, but just can't wait to finally getting back on board!!
I'm assuming the Allure of the Seas will arrive in the early hours of the morning (before sunrise, not that the sun rises that early in November). I'll see if I can find out what time it is scheduled to leave. I would have to assume they would have the water cannons out again like they did when the Breeze and Vista arrived last year: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LZih8barLU8.html Yes, the Nov 9th cruise is for travel agents, management of the construction company building the new terminal, and Royal Caribbean executives (CEO was on the Odyssey of the Seas when I was on the inaugural for it last year). They will likely have some kind of event onboard, but it won't be like the naming ceremony on the Odyssey ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4LrcAAigDyg.html because it isn't a new ship. I wouldn't expect there to be much new crew, unless you mean the folks that are in the terminal with embarkation, then yes it is probably what most people would call a soft opening - test all the systems and familiarize the terminal employees with the new processes. If you want to see the NCL Prima it will be at the old Royal Caribbean terminal October 27th and will leave at 7pm. There will be a Katy Perry concert onboard - but I do not know what time it will be and if it will be on the outer decks. I hope you enjoy your cruise on the 13th. If you plan to get off the ship here is a link to some excursions that might be of some interest. pe.tours/MjcwMjc3/
Here's the most recent video from a couple of days ago. The parking lots and embarkation bridges look complete now. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_TViP41JhGQ.html
The Port of Galveston has some information here. www.portofgalveston.com/91/Cruise-Parking--General-Information I still question if it will be adequate for such a large ship (and they will have more than just Allure sailing). I also think they will need to make modifications to Harborside Drive because so many people will be wanting to make a left turn into the terminal. With the other cruise terminals in Galveston most of the parking is not at the same entrance as the terminal... Be prepared to be patient for the first few cruises. I would honestly drive to the end of Broadway, then turn left onto Seawall / Ferry Road and turn left again onto Harborside Drive. It's 1.5 miles long (plus traffic lights), but it might save a lot of time being able to turn right into the parking.
No, I never heard anything from the bar. Usually the only noise I could hear was someone opening or closing their balcony door and that didn't happen too often - and you could hear that from any balcony cabin, not just this one. You do get to hear the ocean quite clearly being a bit closer to the water
@@amberwilliams6152 no, I didn't notice any noise from the bar. When I was on the balcony I could only occasionally hear other people opening or closing their balcony doors, which you would hear anywhere.
We’re booked on Allure in April 2023 out of this new terminal. It will be our second cruise on this magnificent vessel! Thanks for the progress video. Texas out! 👊🏻🤙🏻
Yes, they have created parking right next to the terminal. The video from November shows where they put the parking lots. (surface lots, not a structure). ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_TViP41JhGQ.html
