Surfed it solo years ago, hired a ponga. After I jumped in the guy took off to go fishing. After a hour a sailboat anchored and a guy paddled into the line up about 200 yards over, waves were like this video except it was a gray day with on/ off rain. I was surfing without a leash and lost my board a couple times near the river mouth. Then I remembered the crocs hang out in that river mouth. The ponga showed up and it was over. Memorable.
These 7 minutes of Torren surfing are just magic. Makes you wanna get in the water right now (even if Im writing this at night). Definitely one of my duo of favourite surfers, along with Mikey Febs. Long live Torren!
Probably the best all around experience of a surf film I´ve ever had! Storytelling combined with amazing soundtracks and rounded off with beautiful Images and insanely good surfing! If somebody asks me what movie to watch to get hyped on surfing... this is it!!!
I like to thank you Bryce and your father Nat in particular for being an inspiration to me personally growing up in Sydney in the 60s and 70s growing up in Engadine National Park and Cronulla and visiting the Northern Beaches for teams contests after Nat moved to Angourie . This movie was really great and the surfing exceptional as well as the cinematic art ! Wow really refreshing ! I am friends with Simon Buttonshaw Wayne Lynch’s Torquay friend and usually bought Wayne’s boards after moving to Margaret river in the mid seventies doing Indonesia India Shri Lanka Hawaii France Portugal and Moroccan trips .
