Hi my name is Jamie and this channel will be dedicated to knives and EDC gear. I will be doing reviews of knives, flashlights, tools, and other equipment, but primarily focusing on knives. If you would like to send a knife or other EDC gear in to be reviewed please email me or DM on Instagram at the addresses below.
The axis lock being stronger than the compression lock is debatable tbh, I’ve seen tests that say otherwise as well as confirm it, I think it’s really a use case scenario thing (granted the compression lock videos I saw were with full liner para 2’s)
I feel your pain!! I went through the same shit the first time disassembling my Manix 2. Also, where did you get the CF scales for the Yojimbo? Those are sexy!!
Gosh, this video is so entertaining. I’m ova here rootin for ya out loud the entire time. By the half way mark I was also calling screws bitches and a bastards. The struggle was real and I felt it.
Good informal yet informative review. I've got a couple weeks till mine arrives. I paid about $38 for it. Looking forward to getting it in the pocket. Subscribed...carry on...
my ganzo hold the blade well enough with one weak spring (i like to use it with one thumb ;) ) .................btw , the black sounds horrible cheap XD
I took my Manix 2 apart last night to install new fasteners and ball cage. …… theeee most pain in the ass I’ve ever dealt with disassembling a knife. And woke up with a blister on my pinkie and thumb. 😂. I got it tho
I purchased one of these at Blade Show Atlanta a couple of years ago. I noted their absence at the show and looked up to find them apparently out of business. Is anyone aware of what happened to them?
What kind of wire are you hanging they scales from here? I've been using Ti wire but now I'm wondering if I should use Nichrome or Kanthal cause I have those on hand too.
Spyderco all the way, is a better knife for the money. The Bugout flexes and the Spyderco has little to no flex. The axis lock spring is flimsy and breaks easily. Finally the Spyderco warranty does allow you to open the knife now and no longer uses the red loctite
Sic ripps black ultem. Just got some micarta for a big pivot 20.5 from ripps totally changes the knife in a good way. Been fence sitting on the lych clip till I saw this short.
Based on the new generation of Microtechs with improved premium materials, the new dual spring action I’m pretty sure the MTK Ultratech will be an entirely different story. I don’t know about the controversy but I suspect a lot of manufacturers are copying a little too much for Tony’s liking (I am a Microtech guy) however, I love supporting the smaller guys and will definitely buy the Axial - they just never seem to make any - will keep an eye out!
$139 - "budget friendly" xD. This is a knife from the middle price range. Unless someone lives in a world of paying several thousand each for a piece of steel.
Beautiful knife. Good video. It's been 2 years since you made this. Is it worth buying? I love the look of olive wood... and the blade style is perfect. Recommendation?
