So I done all of steps correctly but every time I launch the game and resume it I get stuck at the loading screen for a long period of time and I have to wait until it crashes
Thank you, the Steam guide helped, but I experimented a little (new info on the end): - W10, i9-9900K, GoG version, modded - I used 4 cores instead of 1, it helped a lot with framerate. - I use max texture detail setting, doesn't seem to have any issues (after 2 hours I didn't see any texture problems, like before and no crashes) So now the game looks fine (for its age), runs fast and not crashing. Edit: After further experimentation, I saw no reason to modify the texture quality nor the processor core affinity. The game runs stable with max texture quality and with 16 (max) cores. The main thing was it seems the usage of that modified game exe file.
It's not often i write a comment on youtube, but thank you! i was about to lose my mind. I did not have to lower the graphic settings and change the cpu to fix my issues. After installing the two patches was i golden. Thanks a lot.
I was having the "game already running" problem, and this patch fixed it! Thanks for the short video! Having to do all this shady stuff, just to play a game I already paid for is so ridiculous! No wonder people turn to piracy...
great video. tried the cpu stuff. but i want to remote play to another computer and then for some reason it probably does not have the cpu power to produce a picture :P bugs and problems! hate it.
God Jesus I’ve put off fixing and replaying this game for almost a year now because of how confused it all made me with the tech speak some people used (I’m new to computers and actually delving into files and documents) and this made my life so dang easy being able to watch you go through all the steps in a consice and clear manner THANKYOUUU
Im trying to play the game myself now and tried this, and im just stuck in. It's an infinite loading screen after trying to atart a new game music still on and all, but i have to restart my oc to get it out of the loading screen
So my fucking problem is that i have it on the EA app and its too zoomed in for me to change the settings and press play!!!! no one on earth has this fucking issue but me AWESOME!!!!!
So i have to play a 15 year old game with texture detail turned all the way down on a RTX 4090 or else it will crash? I don't think i want to buy it if this is the case. I used to play a pirated copy of this game on a GTX 970 with no issues.
@@KattycatJane that's really unfortunate. I have a feeling that if Bioware wasn't owned by EA, these issues would've been fixed. All three games can be purchased on steam right now for ten bucks (total, not each), which would be a great deal, but I decided to stay away from all of them after reading about so many issues with the games and their stupid launcher, which shouldn't be necessary. Supposedly, The Veilguard won't require their dumb launcher so maybe I'll play that one when it comes out. I just wanted to play the others first so I'm pretty disappointed that they can't be bothered to fix the issues.
THANK YOU!! After watching 3 different videoes on how to install the 4gb patches i have to say, yours made the most sense! I could not for the life of me get the patch files to overwrite the original game file correctly by the other methods. Yours was simpel and easy to follow for a newbie, so thanks again! The only alternative method that i did was to download the unencrypted daoorigins.exe through Nexus and not via the steam LAA dropbox. Don't know if it made a significant difference tho
My folders look nothing like yours, I can’t figure out how you extracted your zipped folders, mine isn’t saying zipped after I downloaded it and it isn’t showing 4 different folders like yours
Thanks so much for this! I copped the series on Steam for this last summer sale and was furious that my $4k rig somehow couldn't run this game without crashing lol
thank you for the suggestion, i'll try it. although i think the point is not to play dragon age origins with absolute garbage graphics in 2024.. if i'd get the graphics mods working i'd be a happy man
