It looks like you are playing the final pedal entry an octave lower. I have done that at times when the pedal division was not sufficiently full to bring out the melody at that point.
I was fortunate to attend this organ's 90th anniversary Festal Evensong and recital by Ian Tracey. And in 1970 I had the thrill of a few minutes playing it.
Do watch the St. Laurencekerke dual organ performance ( away from the glittering glass atmosphere of this American Building) of this music. In a grand atmosphere that America can never replicate) on two organs with two , separate organists. The European historical setting cannot be replicated. Chris (Australia)
What a stunning Recessional piece. Always inspiring to hear this mighty Organ. It's been a long time since I've heard it 'in the flesh', so to speak. Bravo on this composition making full use of those magnificent Reed Stops!Good to hear young talent.
Too slow? Do you have any musical education? Andate means walking speed, imagine walking the speed by which this organist plays, and then speeding it up even more, are you walking or running to catch the bus? 'Too slow' pfft Scheiße
Preston's (RIP 😥) frequent registration for BWV 577 has long been one of my favorites. Not unlike your performance of "Alleluyas", he was able to allow us to hear "inside" the music in ways that others can miss. Daniel and Simon, what a lovely collaboration!
I just listened to this while on a cruise ship. The grandeur of your playing this nearly rivals the grandeur of the ship on the beautiful and majestic Caribbean sea! Thank you for making this cruise even better!
So good to see this after hearing it yesterday. The "total body experience" of the organist is kind of astonishing to see! Magnificent, Daniel. The precision, power, and even delicacy of your performance is awesome. What a brilliant artist!
I do not like what they've done to the former Crystal Cathedral, especially the vile 'whitewashing' of the Hazel Wright Organ, but this is still an impressive sound! Well done!
Thank you for asking! This will be published in a collection with my other organ marches this spring by ECS. I can share a link in the comments when it is available!
Magnifique ! Merci Daniel, Merci Olivier... Avec ce sublime Banquet, je me revois debout sur le sommet du Mont Beuvray, en train de contempler dans le bas mes pas s'entrecroisant, qui confondus aux Grands cycles des Saisons, m'ont fait rencontrer l'Intemporalité.
