The First Church of the Brethren is an open and affirming Christian community. Called by Christ to be inclusive, caring, and peace-minded, we affirm that people of any race, ethnic identity, gender, sexual orientation, ability, age, economic status, faith tradition, or life situation are welcome in our congregation.
Thank you for community-building through shared singing as a community "just as we are" -- not polished or perfect but gathering as friends! So cheery to see the kids on the shared Zoom screen!
How nice to see the colors and flowers change today. Such a very timely message! Beautiful music as always. Thank you, Sara, Linda, Susan, and Ashley. Thanks, Oren, for the digital directory. <3
Thank you, Jay. It's interesting that the prayer meditation and sermon both drew on letters of Paul (Ephesians here and Thessalonians there). Someday I look forward to hearing how you and Sara suggest these can work together in our shared worship?
Mary and I thank you for preparing this meaningful worship service and inviting us to share the time with you and others. We'll bring our own snacks for fellowship time afterwards.
Thank you so much, Pastor Sarah, Susan and Jay, for creating this Lenten worship space. That reminder of this as a Lenten season really helped reframe current events with spiritual meaning. <3 Social / physical distancing is a very familiar experience to me as a trans person, but last time I experienced it, everyone around me wasn't also experiencing it at the same time. I appreciate the sense of community rather than stigma and exclusion in this collective practice of physical, but not necessarily social, distancing.
