the pen tool keeps filling in the spaces with black or white, I can't seem to get it to just be the outline. I'm new to using this but it matches with what youve shown in the video ( white square with gray square in center)
Weird! Switch between boxes with the arrow in the corner of them! Make sure you are selecting the stroke and making it transparent/no color not fill! One thing when you finish a shape make sure you connect to the start point! When you do this it’ll show a little circle by your pen tool when you’re close to clicking on the starting point! Hopefully that makes sense!!
I just watched this video, I wish you had more videos, this helps tons!! It's very straight fowards, no going around explaining every detail (yes, sometimes we need it, but not in this case). Love it!!! ♥ (you got a new sub, just in case you post more in the future!)
Hi! How is it that you can create anchor points on new paths that go on top of existing paths (at 1:06 at a lot of other moments)? Everytime I try to do that, the entire new path that I'm trying to draw disappears and my cursor jumps back to the anchor point on the old path.
Hi! Yeah so a trick, go just slightly next to the path then move the shape to over lap or certain points with the “A” direct selection tool. Or create your new lines/ shape on a new layer, bcs you’re right it will add and delete stuff on the line I accidentally do that, this is how I go around it I hope that made sense!!
Hey! I used a laptop for this, I may have to make a vid to explain but with the pen tool when you click to create an anchor point hold down the button and drag out words (you will see two lines extend on each side, the bigger or short the guide lines are, adjusts how smooth the line you’re creating will be!
So if you work in layers, make a separate layer before you start working so you aren’t working on the actual image. In your layers window you can toggle the eye, which shows or hides that layer. Or make sure your own tool is only a stroke and has no fill (the full box and the outlines box on the left hand toolbar), sometimes the fill gets in the way when working! I hope that helps if not leave another comment with more specifics!! :)
