Чарли Паркер без сомнения гений, а вот трубач Майлс Дэвис, который самоуверенно тоже пытается что-то изобразить- выглядит, пардон, просто дурачком на фоне гения.
My friend put lyrics to this....."that lovely bird who'd sit up in that tree there. ... I hear him now. And all the branches high would start to swing there..,. Bird on the bough". Joyanna Brookmeyer
In my opinion still one of the greatest solos ever. This solo showed that Charlie Parker was truly just ahead of his time. Displaying perfect bebop language in 1943. Truly amazing.
Bird captures so much sadness in this beautiful performance. Hugely expressive. A volcanic outpouring of modest, reflective expression. Even sounding slightly bitter in the odd moment at life’s hardships. Such a great and completely timeless artist.
Personnel and performers incorrectly listed. This is from 1956. There were TWO albums titled 'Cioltrane' . The listing shown for this is from the second one on the IMPULSE label from '62.
The speed is amazing enough but every note Bird and Diz played was beautiful and made sense. An Incredible recording. Oh and Dizzy played piano on this recording as well as trumpet because Bud Powell was a no-show.
