@@jangonauta hey, man, appreciate that! Just a heads-up; I’m not sure how often I’ll be doing manga/comic reviews. Seems like a lot of my regular audience don’t watch these as often. Didn’t want you to be super disappointed lol. Regardless, I appreciate the sub. God bless!
Dude, I’m so sick of how bloated books are, that I eventually got to the point where I don’t read the majority of description paragraphs lol. I do read every bit of dialogue and action, but I skip a ton of the descriptions, and I actually think it paces books a lot better. A lot of people give me shit for that, but I prefer it. Definitely try it out sometime.
I just put up a pick on my community page. My bro and I have unboxed some mini brands books and I put a pic of the mini brand . Version of goosebumps the haunted mask in case you wanted to see it .
@@mrwildboyhorrorbooks I’m surprised your version is 350 pages. The one i have is 440. I love the book to pieces, even though it isn’t as extreme, i just find it to be comforting when I’m feeling down. For some reason, all of Laymon’s books are comforting
comparing it to Richard Laymon is making me want to read it, but then the present tense made my skin crawl. i vehemently HATE the present tense, so I am with you on that 🤣
Jesus, dude, you have no idea how bad the present tense is, in here. These newer writers (of erotica, horror, any genre) have got to stop that shit lol. It’s making people like me not want to read.
@@mrwildboyhorrorbooks I hate books where it’s like “She is walking to the grocery store. Sandra enters the store and gets a shopping cart, and walks down the aisles searching for a bag of potato chips.” I hate it so much. Riley Sager would be a great author if he didn’t use it in EVERY BOOK. Darcy Coates “Dead of Winter” would also have been great. But it fell into the trap of the present tense.
Ya I read and read reviewed Star Wars splinter of the minds eye two years ago no wonder I can’t remember how I feel about the video is up if want to check out
I’ll recommend a Star Wars book I’ve read it part of legends now splinter of the mind’s eye treat like a marvel what if . And I’ve heard of book called the glove of darth vader . And Star Wars Lando .
@@mrwildboyhorrorbooks glove maybe I’ve not read it but splinter I did read and it was written as the second movie if there the first hadn’t bin a hit and it’s considered to the first expanded universe novel. So I read like marvel what if and since legends now I think marvel did a comic adaptation of splinter of minds eye that eye but never read that version. Have read the Lando. Trilogy of novels.
@@mrwildboyhorrorbooks I read splitter of the minds eye it was a while a ago so can’t remember of I liked or not I but I do know I liked the Lando solo comic marvel put out the first one . The mini series .
I did a video last year after I did a review of goosebumps. Attack of the mutant. Which is the first goosebumps book I found in the wild and reviewed on my channel. I did a sequel. To that video called samurai what if . What if I wrote a sequel to attack of the mutant
What’s your movie review channel ? Also have seen the movies in the Abbott and Costello meets the monsters series . The favorite in our house is Abbott and Costello meet the invisible man
Yeah, man! It seems like it’s what most people like on here, to begin with, so I’ll try my best to stick with discussing those as often as I can lol. Don’t know how frequently that’ll be, though. Dude, I can’t wait for you to read Washingtonians, someday, when you’ve run out of anything else to read lmao. It’s an absolute gem.
@@XtremeReviews11 Let me know if the show is any good-I’ve heard one guy I love on RU-vid say he enjoyed it fairly well, and I’m a big fan of anthology horror. Hoping to like it as much as he did lol.
I don’t think I’ve ever heard of those until you mentioned them lol. I’ll try to get around to it and review it on my horror movie channel, sometime. Thanks for the recommendation!
@@mrwildboyhorrorbooks there is a also a western movie called Jessie James meets frankensteins’s daughter I’ve seen this a couple times of like weird western westerners it’s worth watching
I know you do horror movie reviews I just put a review of one the el santo movies check out when have some free time and let me know what you think I also put a goosebumps book review as well

Got tagged in this read smart tag at the end of my video I basically tagged any one wanted to do it I don’t know lot of big readers your the first guy came to mind
@@mrwildboyhorrorbooks Halfway Initial impressions were good, I liked how the protagonist was shown to be a horrible person, but otherwise it's sort of cliché, with a kind of cringe banter and awkward swearing. Though to be fair to the author, I am reading it translated, because I couldn't find it in English, and I did find a few places of bad mirror translation of idioms.
i was hoping acolyte was linked to this since its like ninjas vs shaolin monks but acolyte is lit like a low budget scifi channel show. i wish somebody credible would do shogun assassin in space but disney seems married to the heirs of epstein abd weinstein with kk gumby and blockhead
Also I’ll throw out some recommendations 1. Dynamite comics masks 2. Image comics gunslinger spawn 3. Manga devils is a apart timer 4 manger devil is a part timer high school . 5. Dynamite comics black terror series’s . 6. Dynamite comics project super powers .
I've been looking for a book discussion that doesn't talk about how the content of the book is so dark and how crazy the author must be in writing something like this etc.....I love horror, gory, thriller, and crazy weird books/movies....I wanted to watch a review of someone talking about the actual book and I found it here haha... I liked the book, I think it was a bit too long for my liking and feel that towards the end of the book the author added some spice scenes to fill in. I overall liked that the book had many genres and a few things happening at once which kept me invested. I wish there was not a part two and that she would've ended the story with the first book and call it a day. But overall I gave it 4 stars and I will be reading the second book because the way the first one ended just MAKES ME HAVE to read it because if not, I will feel like I wasted my time.
Hahahah yeah, it seems like most of the love that floats around for this book is based on shock about how dark it gets, and-as a horror fan-I’m just sitting over here, shrugging my shoulders and watching people cope with the evil that Zade constantly commits lol. Thank you for watching!
Thank you for watching across so many channels, dude! It means a lot to me! And have you read that X-Files book? I’m super curious as to how good it is-I’ve heard great things and Maberry seems to be absolutely in love with it lol.
@@mrwildboyhorrorbooks I have not read it but I’ve always been interested in The X-Files and read the mid-late 90s comic run by Topps a long time ago but never knew they had actual books haha.
Major agreement: a total waste of time. Convoluted plot, ridiculous villain, bland characters, overly long. I struggled with this as well, and forced myself to finish it. As much as I love "Swan Song," this was just awful.
Excellent review of a great book! Swan Song is one of my top favorite novels, and one of the few books that I genuinely love. I've read it maybe ten times now, and every time I wish there was more. As a writer myself, I agree with you that it's a master class in how to write a novel. Robert McCammon seamlessly weaves multiple plot lines and a large cast of characters into a cohesive story with a brilliant conclusion. The Stand is also a great book, but I totally agree with you that Swan Song is superior.
I think what makes SS stand out so heavily is that each chapter is basically a short story that EVENTUALLY ties-into an overall narrative. So clever--I'd never seen a novel approached that way before, and it really shows how smart McCammon is hahah. Love that guy. Thank you for watching! God bless!
I am interested in if you would still not think this is a self insert, after looking up a photo of the author 😅. Besides the physical similarities, she also had a sold out book signing in her hometown as well, so many aspects of Addie's life seems to mirror some of Addie's.
Glad you picked up Jujutsu Kaisen man, has a lotta great action it and some horror elements too. It’s about humanity’s negative emotions creating these ghosts and demons that roam Japan, which a school of trained sorcerers try to exorcise The tournament manga you were thinking of was actually Record of Ragnarok haha, that was the one about the 13 strongest gods vs the 13 strongest humans. Hope you get the chance to pick that up too, thanks for the kind words and god bless ya Mike
I recently bought this on Audible, narrated by the legendary Tom Holland but boy is it hard to listen to. No disrespect towards Holland but the way he speaks does not work at all. It make as good short story boring lol. Scarlet Gospels was a better listen even though it has kind of the same issue.
@@mrwildboyhorrorbooks Yeah it sucks cause it's an audiobook and narration should be the most important part. But nah. Mumblings and leaving out words, reading so fast lol
@@twistedelegance_ See, before my wife got into reading, I would explain to her that audiobooks weren't my thing because of the weird voice choices, and now that she's tried them a few times, she understands exactly how much of a bummer it is to be excited for a book, hear the voice, and then have it ruined forever for you lol
@@mrwildboyhorrorbooks So true. I guess I'm in a way spoiled and have unrealistic expectations, cause my first audiobooks were Neil Gaiman's narrations and later The Sandman full cast (which is bloody amazing btw) books. There are some hits and then huge misses. Especially horror genre seems to be poorly narrated, and surprisingly erotica as well. But if she hasn't already listened to all of the full cast Sandman audiobooks, I HIGHLY recommend them all! I know they're gonna release two more soon. They have a full cast, music, singing etc. It's better than the series tbh.
Glad you found one you liked man🔥 you should read Fear Street: Ski Weekend as well since that was a really good one for me too There’s also one called Switched which Stine said is his favorite, the plot is kind of a thriller play on Freaky Friday
