This is my Main video game music arrangement channel, I upload pretty frequently so be sure to stop by , give it a listen, request a song or two, and like and subscribe!!
3:24 Hey, I just wanted to know what sound you used in the background of the *veni veni venias* part. It sounds like wind blowing, I just think its really cool sounding.
@@thepeacefulbuddah honestly what you are hearing is most likely reflections from reverb used I don’t recall using any wind or SFX outside of the soundfont
Great stuff. Honestly I'm not sure which of your renditions of this tune I like better, but there can never be enough good mixes of this classic, so I'm very much happy to be able to enjoy both
I miss this old synthesized video game music sound. It just had it's own uniquely otherworldly feel to it that actual orchestrate music can't quite emulate. So I really appreciate mixes like this that let us relive that style of soundtrack by hearing new tunes in those classic soundfonts. They also do a great job at showing how well N64 era music holds up to this day. Thank you for all your efforts with these vids!
Perfection. I would 100% believe that this came from a N64 port of Donkey Kong Country if I didn't know better. Using Malon's vocals was a great touch.
@@GrumpysonofaJack so believe it or not, I’ve never heard of the masterpiece that is aquatic ambience before I made this OOT mix, and the main melody wasn’t lined up properly and is…off putting to say the least lol. BUT maybe it’s something I could visit in the future to redo, considering I have a massive love for this song.
As long as this song is remixed in the context of the original composition ( not some of these half assed covers people have done) It’s on my top video game songs of all time because it hits all of the characteristics of a great song , creating tension and resolution.
@@GrumpysonofaJack lastly check out the one i simultaneously released with this one, it’s in the key that the arcade version had and sounds a little deeper
yeah, now i see what you're say'n. you definitely have a way with mixing! never played the game, but the ocarina soundfont makes this sound beautiful, great work!
I have Learned that the OOT soundfont, though dated, can really be brought to life when layering and tasetfully compressing so that the frequencies on the instruments are even vs being flat or sharp to the ears. I mix bus, Mix bus parallel and a reverb send so that its not dry. This was about a 5 hour mix start to finish
The kick is 2 different congo samples, the mids scooped, then compress to create the illusion of being an actual kick drum, and the snare is clipped, layered with 2 different pitches to create give it the thud of the shell and rattle of the snare wire, then compressed to even it all out.
Oh my god please do more. I love Castlevania but I will admit, the GBA sound chip just was not suited to the games aesthetic. You really made this shine.
@@novelezra the buzziness of all the 8bit instruments definitely gave it its own character. But I will agree the overall gothic aesthetic they were going for is not properly represented as was in say symphony of the night. I’m glad you like it, it was about a 5 hour mix, and I’m only getting better at making these songs sound polished
2024 has been awful to me. Its been... stressful to say the least. Depression has a tight grip and wont let go... I need to do more of this to help with that tho. Im glad you like it!
I guess this could fit in the dark link room, like before the actual fight. From when you enter the room, until he comes out from under the tree and the miniboss theme plays.
Most underrated within the game, it sounds so ethereal. Like you're about to encounter some otherworldly entity, possibly God Oath to Order from Majora's Mask has the same feels if you know what I mean
J-E-N-O-V-A: Scourge from far beyond this reality, far away from Hyrule or any other known realm close to it, was sighted around the same time that mysterious silver haired swordsman showed up and started attacking...
