Hello Sherri, you are very welcome! I just subscribed to your RU-vid page/account. Please, would you do me the favor of adding this video to your Steve Morse playlist?
Very funny... It is stated that it was shot using a smart phone. Handheld from a balcony seat, no tripod. I'm thankful to see and hear even an amateur recording of these old musicians still performing at the top of their game!
Just wondering how many, if any, of that compact (and so lucky !) audience imagined the journey that these two would be on. Fascinating to find a rare early Larkin Poe recording. Im guessing that even in their wildest dreams in 2011, Rebecca and Megan didnt imagine playing to packed music venues across the UK and Europe, as they just have in 2023.
Choctaw Hayride is supposed to sound like that. The Lovell Sisters' Dobro player Megan learned this from composer Jerry Douglas of Union Station. Lovell Sisters played this as a tribute to Mr. Douglas. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-iGt9ls7dh74.html
@@ramblerdave1339 I'd like to see her play the mandolin more, but she has fallen away from it and likes to play her guitars now. She should perform Mad As A Hatter with her mandolin like it was originally performed. Just my preference, but I would enjoy hearing her play it on guitar too.
I saw LP in London in the summer. Brilliant gig. How appropriate they are playing in this video beneath a poster of Robert Johnson. Their voices in harmony give me chills. I’m 61 and live in the uk. Seen hundreds of bands over the decades and these ladies can hold their own with any of them.
Yes. Older sis could electrify the fiddle for Larkin Poe like Papa John Creach did with Jefferson Starship. Now though Rebecca is the best vocalist in music today.
Been a Larkin Poe fan for about 5-6 years, saw them in London recently and they were excellent. I've watched a bit of their earlier material and they were obviously always very talented (all three of them)!
This band sucks. Just goes to show some people will listen to anything. Their music is all mushed together. Can’t make out what the diner is singing. The blond is hot how ever. Best part of the show.😂
Here is a part of the original description of this video clip. It was put there for the musicians' and co-producers' review. I have deleted this part of the description because it is not relevant to the viewers among the public, but it is saved here: This is a single camera rendering. My computer crashes when I try to edit with two video tracks; I'm trying to figure out how to fix that. Meanwhile, y'all can watch and listen to this. Compare the sound here to the sound on the first upload. Which do you prefer? I can easily change the sound again if we would like. Here, I mixed in the camera audio, in addition to the Tascam audio recorder track which was all you heard in the first upload; the camera audio is at a lower level than the Tascam - it can be lowered further or raised. (I think it adds depth to the stereo image, but there might be room for further refinement on the audio.)
Discovered this band about two or three years ago. I absolutely love their music from their bluegrass/country days to their killer current blues rock sound of today. Very cool people and great music: what more could you ask for?👍💖🎸😎
@@georgestevens1502 I'd love to see Jessica return with her fiddle/violin. I think they are so good that they could cover some Dixie Dregs tunes. Megan has already performed Steve Morse's Highland Wedding with her talented husband Mike Seal. Check it out! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YjygxOwy-hU.html
