I felt so shitty after the Superbowl loss...then I got over it pretty quickly knowing we get to see what Brock and Shanny cook up for the next (hopefully) 10+ years. Brock literally checks every box as a QB...most importantly, and us actual Niner fans know this (counting out some hater media outlets / Grant Cohn, and fan of teams we've owned), he's just an absolute gamer. He just wants to win, he wants to be there for his team, and he's an absolute gamer/dog. He's like Curry or Posey...can be pretty cookie cutter from an outsider perspective, but if you watch him game in and game out, he has that drive that only a select few have. That's all we can really ask for as Niner fans. Throw in his top tier processing speed, deep ball accuracy, scrambling ability (which separates him from Jimmy G stans), elite pocket presence (another thing Jimmy G lacked), him apparently getting stronger core and lower body (pre-season reports of this), more experience, yada yada...the list goes on...I think even when he gets paid, and we can't afford top tier players at other positions, I expect the Niners to relevant for a long long time, and that's all we can really ask for. Never forget the days of Jim Tomsula and how it felt from like 03-10...Niners were absolutely irrelevant, and as a fan, that's the worst feeling ever. I remember my Raider fan homies were able to talk shit during that time...not fun. Just give us a chance every year, and whether they eventually pull it off or not (trust me, all of our close letdowns since 2011 kill me...I still think about that Kyle Williams fumble game vs. NYG....I thought they woulda wiped the floor with the Patriots in the SB that year), at least we are battling til the end each season, relevant until January every year. As I get older, I am realizing that a consolation prize for not winning the SB is to remain relevant and at least see some playoffs...Niners haven't sealed the deal since '94 but we've had so many unforgettable playoff moments and games since then, a lot of fanbases would kill for just that alone. One final note...don't forget that if Greenlaw doesn't have that fluke injury, I truly believe the Niners continue to dominate KC like the Bucs did a few years ago. They absolutely had KC locked up in the first half. His injury changed the whole game...and remember that Brock got us the lead late in the game. He's absolutely dialed in every play, has the support of his teammates, coaches, former Niners (Young, Montana, and Rice all love him) and fans, and that's all that really matters. I am way more excited for Niner football than I ever thought I would be after the SB. If you read that rant, props to you...LFG Niners!
Can't wait to see him in action. Kyle and John know what they are doing. They know that he is likely the missing piece, someone who can get himself open alongside Ayuik. Deebo is a solid player and is a YAC master but he cannot get himself open like Ayuik (or even Jauwan for that matter). So now we truly have an offense to fear (as if we didn't already).
