Morning, i am getting ready to buy a table loom from a rigid heddle loom and have only found out about the woolhouse looms, i am kinda short and am liking that the handles for the heddles with this loom aren't as high as all the rest of the looms i am looking into, i am curious, can advance your loom from sitting or do you have to get up every time?TIA
What am I doing wrong because as I wind and I’m at least 1/4 in the yarn starts Togo below the winding yarn ball, then I have to stop and go really really slow and hold yarn up by the ball, like I need a extra hand. It’s frustrating, I am new at this so any help would be great. Thank you
Just used my swift and jumbo ball winder for the first time. Seamless. Absolutely seamless. Thank you for such beautiful products and thank you to @knittynatty for recommending your company!
I filmed this video when I took my children to Chicago to visit my family for spring break. Please forgive the non-studio environment and reach out with any questions! customercare.fiberartistsupply@gmail.com
You're absolutely right about this. I had the guide too far back and facing the wrong direction and my results were less than I'd hoped. The yarn was bunching up under the cake on the spindle. When I followed your directions, my yarn cakes became more consistent. Thank.you. I bought this winder from your company some years ago and I love it, I keep you video so I can remember to do this to get best results.
Wish I bought this brand over another one that I found on Etsy last month. Reason being that the wood arms end just after the last peg. My last skein flopped off the ends constantly and it just got messy and I eventually had to slowly pick it over all 4 pegs. That would not happen with this brand. So I need to get 4 popsicle sticks and glue to bottom and extend 1.5 “ or drill into ends and glue in a chunk of dowel rod on each end. It will be ugly and functional. Unlike this one that is nice & functional. Also, mine could have been smoother too.
Hola. Me podrías mandar las plantillas para hacerlo yo, con las medidas en cm, y los grados de inclinación del porta ovillo, y los elementos a usar, así me los compro. Gracias
Would be great if Ikea still sold the "Finnvard" trestle. The one they sell now is "Mittback" ($50) which is a few inches shorter in length. Not sure that would work well considering the distance needed between the winder and swift, especially, if you want to include the yardage meter. 😕 This winding station, minus the trestle and meter, is $210.99 from this company. Amazon has the Finnvard for $144.30__bastards! 😧😣 Debra Cisneros, HHP
I actually just ordered my first inkle loom from you guys. I can't wait to start weaving on it. Can you recommend what type of yarn is best for beginners to use? Thank you!
I bought one of these a couple of years ago - love it!! Beautifully made, excellent craftsmanship, extremely good quality. A tool that I hope will become an heirloom piece in years to come <3
What keeps the swift from slipping around on the table when you're winding a skein? Is it weighted? Wouldn't it be easier on the hands to wind if a peg were placed near the center on one spoke? Could the swift be placed vertically, clamped onto a supporot, for skein winding?
