I love the East 59th fashions but agree with you on the dolls. I would norrnally just buy them anyway regardless of the doll because I loved that tailored look. However, i can't afford anymore dolls right now. I had to pass on the last few dolls as well. As for Cora Kwan's lips, I agree with you about them being weird. To me they look cartoony and I don't want my dolls to look like cartoon characters unless that is really their intent like with the Eve Kitten dolls and some of the Dynamite Girl dolls. These dolls I'm referring to are from decades ago. So Yeah, I hear you on Cora Kwan's lips and for me it's a nix on the lips. I enjoy your reviews, keep up the good work. I wish I could go to the convention but I have no money and hate to travel. Good luck and I cant wait for you to tell us all about it.
When they released the Nu. Fantasy Smoke and Shadow doll, I was like, "Are we doing this? Ok, we're doing this!". Because if you don't get the first one, what is the point of even collecting the series? As soon as two of the Four Seasons Collection dolls were dealer dolls, and two were lotteries, I would have peaced out on that aspect, alone. That is too much hoop jumping for the complete collection. And what is the point of a four seasons doll collection if you don't have all four of them? Also, my advice for convention is "Don't think, just buy.". EVERY SINGLE PERSON will enter the convention with that mentality because they know how coveted convention dolls are and will easily sell on the secondary market. You are basically an unofficial dealer at this point.
Yeah for people who prefer to have the entire collection the splitting it between lotteries and dealers is going to make it near impossible to get them all. You’re not the first person to tell me something similar to that. And that seemed to be the mentality of most people attending the Curated event last year as well.
I had to get the Fall doll from my dealer and entered for both lotteries. These girls are stunning! 🎉 I need to cool it because I’m going to the convention in October.
Agreed Greg , we can't get everydoll But 😂 for the first time ever I entered the two lotteries because I'm just blown away .I open, play , redress so the pinic basket 🧺 and the dog 🐕 are just amazing .I have my diaroma already planned in my head. First time East 59th lottery BTW
It’s so hard but so true 😅 They have some really nice pieces for building onto a diaroma! That’s something I really hope to be able to me to do in the future once I have some more space for it. Good luck with the lotteries 🤞🏻
Great video. Thanks for taking the time creating and sharing your thoughts. Super happy you’re going to convention. 😀 Now we need questions to ask you on what we would like to know re: your experience at convention.
Of course I really enjoy making these kind of videos 😁 I’m really excited for the convention! And exactly. I’ll be making a video all about what I hope for the convention and to ask what y’all would like to see as far as my coverage of it 😁😁😁
I have heard a lot of people talk about that Erin and she’s definitely unique but like you she doesn’t do much for me 😅 The style lab is definitely one of the coolest part of the conventions!
I love 5, 4, and 3 the best. The funny thing is I own none of them. 😢 I think it's because I already had 2 Amirah's. The Adele, for some reason, I didn't get maybe cause I had purchased so many at the time. I could kick myself for not getting Adele. Like you, I have the Mermaid on order as well. I just got my Bellamy Vampire Hunter, which I posted on ig. I Also the got the Blood Moon Tenzin.I loved the video and your brothers take on the dolls. Unfortunately I can't buy every doll. 😢
I can’t fully put my finger on it but there is something so incredibly special about Pink Glam Adele. I can’t stop looking at her 😅 Yeah there have already been a few dolls I really like that I’ve had to pass on. Some I regret others I think I made the right decision. That’s just what comes with collecting such expensive dolls I guess.
Can you review the Fashion Fairytale convention dolls? I wish I was around then to get those dolls, especially the Pocahontas Erin. Rank your top 10 favorites of them.
Ooo I like this idea. I’ve actually looked over the Fashion Fairytale collection before and I really enjoy a lot of them! I can definitely do a video on them 😁
theyre all really cool and the amount of accessories and like different ways you could style all of them is really cool to me! youre the only IT collector i watch so this is also generally how i see the news so i like theses types of videos just sharing your thoughts about new releases!
I’m glad you enjoy these videos because I really do enjoy making them 😁 There is a lot of mix and match potential with these looks. I hope this is something we will see more of in the future 😄
We have the exact same order of least fave to fave but I did go ahead and get Clubbing the Night Away! My first thought was how good it’d look on Varsity Alejandra so I can’t wait to try it on her
Snoozeroo really just says it all for this collection. It's funny though I think my opinions on the dolls are the reverse of yours. I find the 'kindergarten teacher' the most interesting of the bunch. Also to be honest I'm not 100%, but I think she's supposed to be wearing capris, which would make more sense than almost neon blue jeans, haha. Anyway, I'm not interesting in getting any from this collection, but if I did, it would be her. I find her at least a bit interesting, while the rest put me to sleep. I do like the bag from Lazy Days, but that's about it.
This whole collection seems very polarizing! I think it’s so interesting. Seems as though everyone feels differently about the collection. And you’re totally right, capris make a lot more sense 😅
Although I am very familiar with this era and the dolls are pretty along with the outfits, they all were a pass for me. I am more 70-80-2000 year doll collector. 70's was ok in some fashions and I like modern. The 80's had some cute fashions, and so did the 90s. Even though I like older fashion, but I am more in the present for style and fashion. If I were looking for this era, then yeah, but I wasn't. I also don't like too much of the black and white geometric patterns. They make me kind of dizzy. Lol. I love capes, slacks, jeans, coats, tops, and more casual style. The p.j. outfit is cute, but give me an additional outfit I can use for styling. I like the sweater and the pink blue top dress but I am not looking for the past so I passed on all. Great review, Greg. I like to see others take on dolls. Also, I have island Poppy and the Paris one on order, so I do like Poppy, but please give me some dolls I don't have. I am in my 2nd year of Integrity, but I purchase more on eBay for the clothes and dolls I don't have. Thank you for your video.
I wouldn’t say 70s is one of my favorite eras but I do like it. But I love glamor in every era 😂 When it comes to a casual collection such as this it has to really really knock me off of my feet or sometimes if it’s modern casual I’ll be a fan of it.
I have to tell you, I honestly joined the W Club for Poppy Parker, she’s such a beautiful doll. I love Poppy, she’s my favorite character from IT, But I have to agree with you, this collection was a miss for me too. Blue skies was my favorite fashion wise, but something about the hair-makeup combo felt off to me too. Doll-wise it’s my party is my favorite, but the clothes were not my faves. I also wish they weren’t dealers dolls or lottery dolls because it just makes it that much harder to get them. Love your videos and always listening to your opinions.
Thanks so much 😊 While Poppy isn’t my favorite line, I never expect Poppy to come off as “plain” or “basic” but that’s exactly how this line read to me. I’m very interested to see what direction they will go in for the rest of this year with the Poppy releases considering this is her anniversary year. And I agree, dealer dolls and lottery dolls can be very difficult to secure. I’ve been lucky with some of the dolls I’ve pursued from dealers and lotteries but it’s still not my favorite way of purchasing them.
Completely agree Greg I don’t like any of them ! There’s so many other characters that could’ve been bought to light , Natalia , Erin, Eugina , Agnes 🥺really not impressed with IT run ups this year , nothing has made me go wow 🥺but wonderful review matey ❤️❤️
Thanks so much 😁 Yeah Poppy Parker isn’t for everyone. Hopefully we get a NuFace or Fashion Royalty release soon because I’d love to see some of those characters you mentioned as well!
I love this collection. Love the color choices for the fashions amd the dolls themselves . My fav was Snoozaroo. I think this collection is more for retro collectors and people who are familiar with these era s whether through living it or watching old movies. I prefer this collection to the previous black and white mod Poppy collection which I thought boring due to the lack of color.😊
I’m so glad you love it! 😁 Based off comments and some of the responses I’ve seen on social media I think you’re absolutely right. It seems like a lot of long time collectors of Poppy are pretty happy with the release. As I said in the video I really do think the variety in tastes is what makes this community so interesting and fun 😄
It seems like Poppy always gets quite a few releases within a club year. I guess that her award for being a fan favorite haha. But yeah, this collection just wasn’t for me and apparently a lot of other collectors felt a similar way.
I think they reflect the theme of going home well and the outfits look pretty period accurate. It’s much more of an ‘everyday look’ kinda line. They feel like beginner dolls for new Poppy Parker fans to collect rather than for seasoned Poppy collectors. The way they talked there’s more Poppy’s coming for the anniversary specifically so to me this just feels like a simple start to the celebration by mirroring the softer vibe of early Poppy dolls.
Okay honestly I can see that! The idea of them being a line for new Poppy collectors is really nice actually. With them deciding to have a simple start to the anniversary for Poppy I’m definitely interested in seeing what other dolls will be released this year.
Same this collection was a big miss for me, as well. I’m not a big Poppy collector but the only ones I liked are Lazy Daze and Snoozaroo’s base dolls but the fashions just aren’t for me…which is a relief for my wallet.
Just remember, Poppy is a teen model in the 1960's (not a 2000's kindergarten teacher)...as someone who lived through this era, this collection reflects the popular colors and fashion styles of that era....you don't have to love the dolls, but at least research the time period being represented...
I’m aware she’s a model and often represents fashions from the 50s through the 70s. Also while I am no expert nor was I alive during those periods, I am briefly aware of the fashions. That being said I still stand behind my opinion, because what I said can also be true. I did grow up in the late 90s into the 2000s and I did see teachers dress nearly identical to that doll. I’m unsure whether it was a fascination with 70s fashion by teachers I saw or a passing trend, but either way the teachers around me at that time dressed in an identical manner to the doll and therefore it reflects that for me. It’s simply a different opinion and perspective.
I agree with you on all those dolls. I'm not a fan of shorts on the dolls because it makes it too casual. I prefer more formal wear and the tailored look like the East 59th collection. Sometimes Integrity comes out with a doll that just doesn't make sense over all. I felt that way about Summer Frost Eugenia. The top part would have looked better on a dress that was a solid color. I get that Jessy Ayala is a designer and likes to play around with styles, prints, fabrics, etc., but this was just too busy for me. Mademoiselle Annik Vandale was also one I didn't much care for but I got her anyway because I had just rejoined the W Club at that time when she came out and of course FOMO was a big factor. Now I'm more discriminating in my collecting. Thanks for the video.
Yeah I’m okay with casual looks if it was another doll line but when it comes to IT I prefer very high end looks to match the price point I’m paying 😅 Yes with IT dolls I have to be very selective or else I’d end up completely broke haha
this collection is so mid 2010s, it cracks me up, that said I've never been a huge MLP fan so I wouldn't buy these personally but I can appreciate this collection for representing the popularity of this version of MLP and the fashions of the mid 2010s accurately.
It really is but that’s honestly part of its charm 😂 I just really love when I can see something from IT. Similar to the recent Cold Carbon collab, while it didn’t align with my tastes it was really exciting to see something out of the normal type of releases I’ve come to expect.
The edition size is NOT "unknown". What is wrong with you?! You have an internet connection. You have a search engine. That reference site is just one site. You can reference other sites to get your information, and piece it all together, BEFORE filming a video.
All the W Club members did was complain, the ENTIRE year, about the Jem and the Holograms dolls so I could only imagine how much they had to say about these. And why Integrity doesn't really do collabs like these very often.
I remember when these came out and there was an interview with Jesse about them on RU-vid. I thought they were cute but wasn't collecting IT at the time, so I didn't make the effort to buy any. Big regret. Apple Jack is perfection!
I got all three of the dolls from this release. I love the Agnes, and Veronique's blouse is amazing. Honestly I wasn't loving the Adele but seeing you unbox her and put all of her accessories on I am warming up to her.
Congratulations on getting them all! Adele is my favorite of the collection! She’s so beautiful and detailed yet not overdone. Plus the screening is just so good! 😍
Haha I know my opinions don’t reflect everyone’s in the community but that’s what makes this kind of stuff so interesting to me! I’m glad you enjoyed it 😁
I agree on the Natalia doll, I didn't like the style of the dress. Ultra Poppy's outfit is not my style either. I would say the only thing I liked was the shorts. Lol. I didn't like the Kyori dolls hair either, but i like the outfit. Ollie Lawsons hair was a bit of overkill for me, but i love his outfit. The Cruise Control Vanessa was a no for me either. I do love integrity dolls though and their clothing is so wonderfully made, all doll clothes should be that quality!
Integrity Toys level of quality and detail in their clothing is absolutely INCREDIBLE! If all doll clothes were made at that level I would be in trouble! I’d have more clothing for 1 doll then I’d have for myself 😅
