Good point. An outlet drawing more power than it can handle IS a fault in the installation.

@@charliewinter655 those breakers are there to protect the wires and equipment. If a continuous 13A burns the socket, then something is wrong as the amps rating of the breaker is for continuous current.

@@charliewinter655 was there a bad contact in the socket? Normally continuous 15A sound not burn it. Thing a space heater on full blast.

@@Rakusan2 13a is lower than 20a With 13 amps connected for a long time will cause heat . New socket tested out ok .
