It's too bad George couldn't shoot the original script he wrote for DOTD, Tom Savini said in a commentary it was like a phone book, a ben hur script. But there wasn't enough money in the budget for that. I bet it would have kicked ass lol.
I was a fan of Morton's show, but he was way off base on this one. The "R" rating indicates these movies aren't for children. It's up to the parents from there, not the filmmakers. Also, I worked at Blockbuster video and children NEVER had their own accounts to where they could walk in and rent whatever they wanted. They weren't even allowed to use their parents' account unless the parents indicated that it was okay.

I grew up watching Nightmare on Elm street, Friday the 13th, Halloween, Phantasm on VHS. My Mom was afraid I grow up to be a serial killer.. I became a cop instead.
It does make me laugh now when you watch the Saw Franchise making Last house on the left or I spit on your grave as comparable its kinda silly, really id say the Dutch movie the Vanishing is far more scary and disturbing then most slasher movies, but the one thing i do like with Downey Jr is at least he made the conversation fun.
Romero said that one does not become a director because one wants to direct "horror" movies, meaning just one certain type of movies. "There's Always Vanilla" is a Masterpiece. A Masterpiece of Love in a World which puts us into the necessity of Labor in order to "fit in".
