Description of unique Multihull designed by John Marples. Owner built Trimaran using Laminated Wood Veneers with Epoxy and FiberGlass Vacuum Bag construction. This build method "Constant Camber" was developed by multihull pioneers Jim Brown, Dick Newick, and John Marples. Build Technique was taught at "Wooden Boat School", Brooklin, Maine CRUISING STORIES TO BEGIN THIS YEAR.
We built and cruised Aviatrix, a Marples CC35 in SE Asia but for my money John’s CC 44 aft cockpit is the ultimate short handed passage maker. Yes, access from a centre cockpit to the mast and it’s lines etc is great but a solid dodger with lines led aft provides complete oversight and shelter in the worst of weather - and Papillon was/is the ultimate blue water cruiser
