Love all this new K3 content that's coming out. I just also uploaded some Super 16 footy I shot with my modified K3 a few weeks ago. I hope my tests can help anyone trying to get in to this pursuit who wants to get an idea of what the K3 can do.
DOPE!! I was just looking at 16mm film vid cams on eBay this past weekend. Been hella intrigued with this format since Illkoncept dropped that Tokyo 16mm video awhile back. Only drawback to 16mm is the cost is crazy for film price and dev. Probably not ideal for a hobby. Lol
not the MOST ideal, but if you think about it, there's this feeling of a larger inherent worth in film footage over an equivalent 5-pack of Portra 800 with dev + scan (depending on what you shoot, I guess) I may be speaking from novelty haha
@@whoschrischu You put it like that, damn near the same cost for 5-pack + dev + scan. Lol I've only been on the research part. But I heard 1 "roll" of 16mm (100ft) you get like 2.5 mins out of it?
@@rf.photographs just shy of 3 minutes. It sounds very little, but it's much harder to finish a roll then you think when you're shooting casually. the only time I ever felt like it went quickly was when I was shooting paid projects where angles were planned and choreographed. other than that, it's more than enough
@@whoschrischu 3 mins actually perfect. A newb in videography space but just dabbling in 2 minutes b-roll shorts. 1 roll is probably a project for me. Lol
Loved this video. I am starting my photography journey, wanting to get better at street photography. This, and your other videos are inspiring. Your video about “zone focus” was very helpful! I work with performing artists for my day job. It is hard to articulate your practice and inspiration. You did it well! I look forward to growing to find my vision. Your comments give me mile-markets to look for. Also, I have to ask, which artist did your Harry Met Sally poster. It is my wife’s favorite movie. She would love one like that. Thanks
Please use the term ‘Acceptably Sharp’ with Zone Focus Method, as there is ONLY one-plane of ‘sharpness or focus’! As ‘Scotty’ from Star Trek would say; “You cannot change the Laws of Physics (ie Optics in this case), Captain!”
Same thing goes for all manufacturers and repairs. They will always want to fix everything and send the product to the customer in A grade quality. So it’s definitely not a bad thing.
Hearing about Leica’s repair standards is honestly a plus rather than a negative for me. Like, yes, having a single issue fixed is one thing, but knowing the maker is willing to fix almost everything about your camera before sending it back to you is reassuring as a consumer. It’s honestly why I like Apple, because they will help diagnose additional issues you weren’t aware of and will repair it for you.
Enjoyed this one Chris. I completely get what you mean by options. Just back from Majorca (video to come!!) but I had my usual 28/2.8 and my 50/2 but I also packed my VERY old and not perfect VG 35mm 1.2 version 1!!! famous for it's imperfect everything and man at night I loved it. for a few nights around the little towns I just got to open it up and man...... sort of fell in love with it agian after shooting 5.6 and f8 a lot in recent years. Makes me consider the version 3 of it as it's much lighter! Super photos mate. Cheers
Disagree about ppl hating on styles and falling into one camp or another. Of course people have a preference. At least I'd hope people are as open to the genre of street photography and other's work. There are different camps of styles people adopt but I'm hopeful a majority of them appreciate other forms and approaches.
Geat video and its dope to see the highlight on Gee Moon! With the praise of this lens it makes me wonder why there isn't more emphasis on the Q series of Leica cameras. That lens is amazing! Sure, you cant swap it but its an outstanding lens and you can crop in post and retain a lot of detail.
That cron life is a good one but I never find myself shooting that fast on my 28 so the Elmarit has been perfect. My 50 crons are magnificent though. Once day I will move to a 28 cron as well-great video brotha
@@whoschrischu yeah - I mean I would love one but just not enough to rn to buy over a few other lenses. I think having the 35 lux holds me back from reaching for the 28 in doors on low light. I have two 50 crons but my favorite is the 50 DR on my M3
@@whoschrischu it’s pretty rad not gonna lie. But definitely a pain as far as weight and less close focusing. Only gripes really though. Insanely sharp wide open.
