It was a lovely trip from Viknes to Bergen and finally ending up at Oslo, the journey was an interesting one with lots of sights to savour . The boat was performing perfectly and you piloted her to the best of your experience and brought her home safely to your home port Lars.
@@johningham4942 thx. It was a lovely trip and I filmed the whole trip. So a lot of videos coming. The first part with not the best weather, but a great ending.
Fint.
Congrats fellow Skilso 35 owner. I actually started a small site where I am detailing the fixes and modifications I am doing to mine. Some tips (unless you already found out the hard way) - get some blue thread glue and remove and reinstall with glue all the set screws on the door handles, the two set screws on the side door, the set screw on the toilet paper holder, and also replace the washers on the high-low teak table (or tables) with non-slip ones.... If you want the water pump to be 2-3x quieter, check how your pressure accumulator is mounted, if it is like on mine (bronze hard fitting), then remove the bronze fitting, fit some hose (check whale fittings on SVB, that's what htey used) and boom, instantly much quieter water pump. The toilet is still very loud though. Also keep a tube of contact or superglue handy, because the ply covering on the furniture in the gaps in drawers and doors delaminates sometimes, happened to me in a couple of places. Additionally the hatches cut in the floor have the same issue. There's also a bunch more stuff, I'll try to make writeups about it :)
@@royalgm thx, can you write down your homepage for the works on your boat, also recommend the facebook site for Skilsø owners. A lot of Good tips there.
@@grindene It's not possible to post links on RU-vid, they get automatically deleted, even if you think you are clever. I will try to find the facebook site, so far no luck.
I have both a 2 stroke and a 4 stroke. The 2 stroke smells a lot and you need oil every time you film the tank. And it uses dobbel the fuel, so for me its 4 stroke for the winn😊
First of all, thanks for the video. Beautiful. Great that you finally revealed your choice of boat. Excellent choice, I believe. I’ve seen some here in Finland (not the exact model) and it looks very nice. The interior has a more modern tone than in the Targa. Enjoy the boat and congratulations!
It's a beautiful robust boat Lars with a bigger range than your Botnia Targa, and I'm looking forward to seeing how she performs against your previous one.
Lars - Do you have a bow thruster that is also operational as part of the joystick control? I am looking at a 38' boat with sterndrive and a Volvo Penta joystick but without the bow thruster. Wondering how those handle and how precise they are. Thanks
Hi Tom, The boat has a bow thruster also. But I did not use it when I used the Joystick. The thruster was not integrated with the joystick. And I did not miss that. But it s nice to have if you don't use the joystick.
I think you should have more rpms. Probably therefore you have low speed. I have optimised the propellers at an expert in Norway, windace. That gave me more speed also.
Indeed, what a breathtaking day it showcases! As spring eagerly approaches, the Finnish archipelago still slumbers beneath a blanket of snow and ice. Yet, watching your journey through Norway’s stunning landscapes, aboard a vessel sister to my own Targa 32, fills me with anticipation. Hurry, spring.
Thx, at home there is 1 meter of snow and I live 20 min form the harbor. And the ice came just after new year. And properly stays to April. But we have to hope for some warm spring weather:)
In my Targa, I use three different systems to maintain warmth on board: 1. Factory-Installed Electric Heaters: These are placed in both cabins and the engine bay, using shore power. They can keep the moisture away. However, especially in winter, they struggle to keep the interior above freezing if the external temperature drops to -5°C or lower. Unlike Lars, I haven’t added extra insulation. 2. Eberspacher Diesel Heater: This has been good in all conditions. It heats up the boat effectively, though it can take a long time. The remote activation feature is a plus, allowing the boat to be warm upon arrival. 3. Targa’s Built-In Defroster: This system leverages heat from the main engines to warm the boat. It’s quite effective. From my experience, the utility of the electric heaters is debatable. They seem most beneficial when staying overnight on the boat during milder seasons like spring.
Hi, I have the same as you. Targa heater in the engine room and in the aft cabin. But they are only about 300W. When it is -10 - 15 it is not enough. I therefore have 3 more heaters of about 1500W each. They heat up the boat great when I am at shore power. The new insulation mats have helped keep the engine room much warmer than before. Merry Christmas !
I've noticed that targa boats have a lovely heating system on all of their boats, lars and they heat up very quickly. It's no wonder that Targa are the all year round boats and in most of the seas can they operate while other boats are confined to port.
The defroster on the Targa is the beste I have tested in any boat. It keeps the boat warm when driving. With other boats you usually have to use the diesel heater instead.
Amazing scenery, and thanks for sharing! My Targa is already out of the water due to the ice. I logged 139 hours during the season, which is pretty good.
@@grindene thank you for the reply! Did the control box come with the harness to go to the engine to run the kill switch or did you have to buy a Mercury harness separately? Happy Holidays!
@@grindene I have been trying to figure out if air heater/frostvakt combined with heated cables around sea water intake/genomföringar might be a solution. Which components do you use?
Thanks Lars, interesting video again. I use joystick docking regularly in my Targa 32. Sometimes it is like a magic but there are times when it is a bit stubborn system.
Mine works great. But I have found that small genteel movements with joystick is best. And neutral is always your friend😄If you are to quick it often can go forward instead of sideways for example
Herlig video Lars! Du deler så bra fra din lange erfaring med å feriere i båt. Så gjennom hele for andre gang nå så blir bare mer og mer fan av denne finske båtprodusenten.
