Hey man love the video, watch you on tik tok too. Glad I found the channel! Just a quick question though, how come you set the engine at tdc before installing any dizzy. I’ve never ever checked to make sure I was at tdc and ive swapped around lots of dizzys. Never had any issues, just put a timing light on it after sometimes or marked it with a marker, lined up the dizzy and I was good to go.
@dawsonlatter2879 thanks man I appreciate it!! I set it to TDC so the motor syncs with the distributor you must do this when installing any kind of distributor

@dawsonlatter2879 won't run at its best its designed to have a base of 16 degrees ig ition timing either be to much advanced ignition timing or to much retarded. It is very easy to do this you just need a timing light if you wanted to check it
@@SaltySpeedyes no you have to set it to 16 degrees. I always do that and check with a light. But lining the motor up at tdc has nothing to do with that. The distributor moves on a key way on the cam. Doesn’t matter what position it’s in.
Nice Build is this a fresh build because wondering if car has made any boost due to no bead rolls on intercooler piping just wondering how they held up
@frostyflowers4207 Thanks man!! Yeah it is fresh build but I have car now finished I'm just catching up on videos that I have had to edit. Car makes 22psi no bead rolls and I've had no problem.
What intercooler and piping is this I have a true ek9 I'm boosting but hate the setup I have cus its a backdoor intercooler and shit has to be cut in order for it to work. I really like your set up. much more simple to install. Great video thumbs up!
Installing a short pipe in place of the plastic one doesn’t suddenly make it a cold air intake you have to extend the piping and get air from outside the engine bay not inside of it
Probably some fun ass memories, I wish I was good with vehicles I have a fun 5 speed manual Chevy s-10 sitting in my back field and my fathers old 5.0 mustang motor with a 5 speed transmission and back axel are sitting in my shop and I’ve yet to swap it in cause I don’t know what I’m doing, fathers not around to teach me anymore and I just have a 540hp 5.0 small block sitting in my shop waiting to be done
