Welcome to MeepleBits - a brand focused on tabletop games and streaming video games. Here you will find "How To", "Let's Play", and the like for tabletop games, and clips of video game streams. Website to launch sometime, soon, hopefully, eventually :)
Hey! you are teaching this WRONG! :) The culture decks are supposed to be Face UP so you can see what you are choosing -- only the Central Deck is face down.
Thematically the "you need beer to build railways" doesn't quite make sense to me. Are they working drunk? Wouldn't that make building the 2 tracks slower lol
I printed this same insert back in 2023 sometime and it's working out great vertically. Btw, all four trilogies (North Sea, West Kingdom, South Tigris, East something) now have/will have the same large box format instead of the smaller boxes they used to use.
Right, they are not that good. However, I think they have left room for expansions. The inserts might work better once the expansions are released.@@MeepleBits
I've watched tons of videos about this game and this is the first video that explains everything clearly. I appreciate you doing an example game explaining each move as you go, and also the pros and cons at the end. Fantastic
Thank you for this video! The instructions included are a little strange in some places so this cleared it up! Also if no one has noticed, the game says “3nd” on like every piece of the game instead of “3rd” hahahaha
I tried to teach myself 7 wonders and it was a bit too complex without someone to help me so I picked this up instead and my husband (who doesn't love games) and I were able to understand it with no issues and had fun. It was quick and enjoyable!
I know it's 2 years later, but regarding how rare overbuilding opponent industries is - you will see if you watch elite level games that players are happier to pay higher prices on coal/iron, and they are less happy to actually build coal mines in particular, than your average player. The reason is they're so focused on maximizing VP, and with higher player counts, each player has less actions per game, which means it is not really sensible to build coal or iron until the market value for them is very high. So you see average players often building those industries when the market is completely full, and giving away free resources. But top players wait until the market is dry, and while overbuilding opponents still isn't very common, it's definitely more common.
Thanks for the response regarding castle placement. There were corrections and FAQs later released by the publisher to address ambiguities on castles - eg rulebook never states you cannot build in capital city or multiple in a province. Only that a player can only build one castle in a region. Archona later corrected these items but they are not in the original print.
@@MeepleBits ahhh. Yeah ok. I just got the new printing Kickstarter. And the rules specify these details. Since this is from the older version it makes sense
@@fan-i-am with any luck they will make sure the expansion is clearer. I was able to demo it and the addition of samurai was a nice one, I never got much use out of archers so I mostly went samurai path.
The draft seems odd. It's much more usual (in drafting games generally) for the players to simultaneously draft from several different hands, rather than the first player getting first bite of every hand as you explained it here.
@@Hakucho64 I was about to reply to your first post. While I certainly to make some snafu's :D this one is the starting player is always drawing first. Doing it 3 times, it never says someone else is the new starting player.
It was purchased during Gencon 2022, newer release at the time, but glad you were able to get it on sale. I also printed an insert ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yyir-14F73A.html
I would love to find someone who can print the top portion of the marble dispenser, that folds or connects together, I really don’t like the cardboard piece
My issue was always with the base more than the top. Putting the cardboard top on the hard base solved so many issues. I understand your point though, I couldn't find just a top that wasn't one piece. But you could do such a thing using a TPU filament. Wish I could help but I'm not good yet with CAD.
