Tamar Blanker is a sea fishing channel set up to help novice and average anglers with information and videos, but most importantly share my experiences and what I learn.
About me: My name is Alan and from Plymouth. I have high-functioning Asperger's. If we meet and talk to one another, you might find I'm shy or socially awkward.
I am a father of four children and a full-time carer to two of my girls who are disabled which have mental and physical delay problems, so I fish locally at least once a week and once a month might travel further.
I hope you enjoy what you see, so please feel free to comment, subscribe and share
Just buy some Jim's Reel Shop German manufactured DRY Ceramic-Hybrid bearings and save all the hastle! Those Chinese ball bearings are slow and made down to a price.
Really good tutorial on how to load a multiplier and choice and attaching a shock leader. Something that's essential for beginners, but often just skipped over and not covered properly.
There was a lot of time wasting picking the bait up then putting it down, then picking it up again and putting it down again, 6 minutes into the video and still no further forward, I wasn't going to waste anymore of my time so moved on
Best way to oil them bearings is to take the bearing covers off both sides before you put them in lighter fluid its just a fine clip just inside the bearing holding the shield in place, remove it carefully with i fine needle then you can properly clean them . As for oiling when everything is clean and dried off put one side of the shields on and place that face down on paper towel. Get small piece of shock leader and put a small drop on the end and then just put it in the bearing that is all you need as one drop out the container is too much and will slow the reel dramatically , replace the other shield and give it a spin on reel spindle to coat all the bearings and that is job done and a reel that casts to its capability.
cheers bro just got a new rod and thaught there was somat wrong with winch but no you solved it dont wory im thick bn fishing over 40 yrs and stumped by a silly seat
Hi , can you please help me to find rings for this model ? Daiwa Ninja Jigger 2,70m 7-28g Spinnrute I broke two rings and I almost bought this rod .. thank if you can help ✋🏻 best regards ✋🏻
@5:55 when you're trying to get the bearings out, be careful not to damage the side guards on the bearings as it will ruin them and theyre only very very thin stainless steel shields. I found that with a Fathom2 that ive got. Best thing to do is take a dremel with a fine sanding drum, and give it a light danding inside the bearing housing so its easier to remove and replace the bearing. Has last just fine without corrosion provided that every time the bearings are cleaned and re-oiled a very thin smear of grease is put into the hole with a cotton bud before reppacing the bearing👍👍 Apperently a lot of spools made by penn the anodizing varies in thickness and can cause interference in the fit. Then again is made in China so what else is to be expected😒
Not bad reels (there are better options ie the Fathom reels or for distance Akios Shuttles), but i dont think there's any need at all for the mag knob. The flat button shaped dial on the mag 2 and 3 was fine to use
Just a thought mate if you wrap the bait in cling film and then vac pack them the cling film stops the fish from sticking into each other Down to you that's how I found my easier way Tight lines
I did the opposite with my Fathoms, I took off the wrecking reel handle that came with the reel and put on a Mag 4 handle, It makes a good reel in to a great reel. Why Penn didn't just use the same handle on the Fathom as the Mag 4 I'll never know.
Hi Alan - new Sub! Interesting video, and a good shout out for Midwater Luggage. They have made me some top quality Rod bags, I like their tripod net, and I bought a Beta box seat cushion, but have now changed to a Team box, so need to get a bigger one! Stay safe & well! 🎣🎣👍👍
Hi Alan - good video! I don't know how your channel slipped through my net as I use RU-vid a lot, and you're on my patch! Don't get out fishing as often as I would like due to breathing issues, so can't access difficult marks. Have subscribed - stay safe & well. 🎣🎣👍👍
@@tamarblanker3324 Yes. I noted that from your 'About' tab. Sounds like you've not been dealt the best of hands. Nice short video of Challaborough - never fished there, only skinny dipped! 😂😂
Like the man cave, much tidier than mine .. lol. A tip here if you get any damp or it gets very cold in there, get yourself a small, cheap oil filled radiator and leave it on a low setting on a timer. I lost loads of tackle through rust and mould one year, cost me a load of money, which I couldn't afford, to replace it all. Best bit of kit I've invested in 🙂
