Welcome to Theme Park History! On this channel we create video essays that take a look at the history of theme park attractions: old and new, big and small! If there's an attraction you would like us to cover in a future video, make sure to leave a comment in one of our videos! You never know, your suggestion might be next month's video!
I know this video is 5 years old but this was brought back last year for Halloween Horror Nights, and while I never went on the original, I thought the maze was good
Who’s here after learning that Dinosaur is condemned to be closed down this year? And learning about its exact replacement in exactly where the ride stands? It’s not fair.
The abandoned studio is still used from time to time for productions, one being the 2019 revival of Deal Or No Deal for CNBC, as it's intro will gladly tell you.
I loved this ride. I went on it having no real transformers knowledge outside the 2007 movie and the bumblebee move.. and frankly not caring for them too much. I left feeling so curious and fascinated by the franchise. I immediately started looking up transformers stuff when I got back to the hotel. 😹 A few years later, and now I collect all sorts of transformers figures, and can’t get enough of transformers media. I HAVE to ride this every time. I never get bored of it!
I have a fond memory of going on this ride back when I was about 13. I rode it with my family and had a great time. I wanted to ride it again, but the rest of my family didn't want to, so I rode it by myself. I was put in a row with three brothers who I'd never met before. Just before the ride begins, I look over to see the boy's mother with a camera about to take a picture of them all. They're all smiling and showing a thumbs up, while I sort of gingerly leaned back so I didn't get in their photo. The mother then goes "Nah nah, get in there, get in there!" So I very shyly joined in and gave a thumbs up too. I never saw that family ever again, but it still amuses me to think that somewhere they might still have a random photo of me in their album.
I doubt they’ll do it, but I feel like after Epic Universe opens, they could use IOA to create a family friendly Halloween party to rival MNSSHP with trick or treating, funhouses, and character meet and greets. Epic would offer a theme park that’s still open for people who don’t have special event tickets and the other 2 parks could offer an option that would expand the market share.
For me the central attraction of the Great Movie Ride at the replica (Grauman’s) Chinese Theatre should have remained at the Hollywood Studios Park, & where all the bought in IP’s should be now. Imagine all the 20th Century Fox films that could be included now. It’s where I’d locate any non-Disney movie IP’s including Indiana Jones & Star Wars, plus others like Planet Of The Apes.
Who is here in 2024 were they've announced SMW at Epic Universe as well as updated Woody Woodpecker to Dreamworks and yet we still have E.T. That ride is not going away anytime soon.
I have been on this ride a total of seven times. And 7 out of the seven times it broke down somewhere while we were on it usually while we're upside down or in an awkward position at least 5 to 15 minutes
I got a chance to work at Universal from late 2015 - 2019. I felt so lucky to be able to catch some of the last performances of Twister: Ride It Out and Beetlejuice's Graveyard Revue. I kinda think that Universal has taken the wrong approach by getting rid of its cornerstone attractions. They even closed Shrek 4D and the Universal Monster Cafe to make a "Minions Land" to go with the Despicable Me ride. Right now, it feels like Universal is riding on their Harry Potter rides and Halloween Horror Nights the most.
I never went to see Bonnie at Universal in Florida, but I passed by, but I can’t wait to see and go to the new theme park as drawworks Shrek, Madagascar, and more but we will remember Barney
This was good show now they have something else, having worked there a few months, I feel like they could have had it go on. But good times, I should see the video games again
