Ndlela kaSompisi was part of the Ntuli people who are also known as aMabhele hence the Mbhele surname. They moved to the Lenge Mountain and where placed under Chief Zihlandlo kaGcwabe Mkhize's leadership in Nkandla. They were called Ntuli because of the dust they made when they were running escaping cannibals. They lived in peace with Mkhize people until the birth of Ndlela, son of Sompisi Ntuli.
