I think we must have missed this entire hall! Thanks for stopping to chat to us. We went and signed on the dotted line for the New Adamo 4T. It is due to arrive in March and we will get it up plated. Cheers for the advice it was very helpful. Phil and Helen 😀
You’re very welcome Phil and Helen, lovely to meet you both and many congrats on the new purchase - an excellent choice plus the 4T version!! Safe travels 😀🚌
Shame they don’t give discount on VB semi air just had it fitted today also wouldn’t recommend VB on a Ford base Motorhome ( not A&E leisure fault ) and they have to put the controls on seat base right by handbrake tbh looks a mess there would try another semi air system tbh again not A&E fault
Many thanks for watching David and that sounds like it was a challenge for a VB fit on your van. Is it a standard place for your model of van? Is it digital, or the dials based version? Hopefully you will enjoy some of the benefits of Semi Air 🤞🚌
@@motorhomingadventures seems some that have the same had them fitted to passengers seat so not in the way of the handbrake others have different systems which tbh seem better for Ford based Motorhome I know A&E our asking VB at the show but with Ford gliderite seems the way to go
Really interesting but…… No spreadsheet!! I know you will love the levelling system. We have had E&P for a couple of years now, tech features have moved on a little but although it’s not cheap, as you note, I wouldn’t be without now, once you’ve had it…… Levelling is of course the main feature but for me the stability when deployed is the best thing. Looking forward to following Balkan adventures- it was an adventure when I was last there involving body armour, helmets & weapons, it’s on our list to visit in rather more happy & peaceful times. Have a brilliant trip. P
Thank you Peter and I just know we’re going to love the system!! When we were in Croatia there were lots of, still, shell damaged buildings - a stark reminder of those dark times that you saw and experienced first hand. Safe travels 😀🚌
Well done great mod I am also interested in same . I have 2 questions if you can answer them. What would be the expected cost to transfer to another vehicle at later stage and is there protection rubber discs for base of legs. Another great and insightful video 👍👍👍
Many thanks for that Denis and I was really impressed with the fitting kit 😀 A full system transfer would be around £14-1500, the Team at A&E might get that figure more accurate depending on vehicle but in and around that. There are feet available to cover the steel feet. I remember filming them on the E&P system and the link below confirms they fit the HY4 too which is logical as Alko own both. In fact I may even add those myself, come to think about it - thanks for the reminder 😀 Give the Team a shout for a NEC week quote!! www.ep-hydraulics.com/en/Products/footplate-cover_pdt_3471
Excellent video there, thanks. You're certainly getting Rezzy sorted for long-term touring. Loads of power and a level moho takes away a lot of stress. What I need now is to see you install a little washing machine please. I've seen some in Chinese/Japanese mohos.
Hahaha that would be an addition!!! Many thanks indeed for that Brian and I've also seen some at the NEC show in these crazy big mohos so they are over here too!! I'll find one for you next week and include it in a film from the show :)
So, your Cross Climate Tires. Michelin Cross Climate 2? I see these are for all year round use and good for snow, braking and traction. Do these negate the need for snow chains in Europe? Cheers and thanks for the upload 😄
Exactly that WJR 👍 The 3 peaks symbol enables that albeit I won’t be skiing with 4.4 tons (I've seen some carry chains in addition to take on snowy roads but I won't be driving on too much snow - I'll be static!!) 😂😂 In Morzine it is 1st Nov to 31st March for '3 Peaks' tyres OR chains OR socks.
Many thanks Andrew - yes we really fancy that - I saw the advert for it 👍 Loving the upgrades too - gone crazy this year - another one going in tomorrow, film on Saturdayish …. 🎉🎉🤞🚌
Lithium is not going to make much difference unless you have a decent DC-AC inverter and charging from the vehicles alternator. Unless you are always in the sunshine which in the UK is a rare sight. Almost all vans on sale today have insufficient lithium capacity and associated charging infrastructure in the build. I also see Mobilvetta are now investing in induction so more reasons to have a decent AC supply from your lithium. Without the inverter all that changing a AGM for Lithium will give you is additional 12v capacity for the fridge and heating motors. Also instead of the TV antenna it would be more practical to have a decent external high gain 4/5G capability as most people watch via IP TV these days. Just shows that mobile home designers are not keeping up with the world tech.
Lots of good and valid points there Michael!! That’s why I’ve just had the van rewired for off grid with 600ah lithium and 750w on the roof with decent Victron components (2 x films of that on the channel😀) They sell the van with ‘solar panel’ as a plus but as you say the original fit at 100/120w with a pwm controller wouldn’t help much at all. Oh and I’ve got rid of the aerial using just mi-fi and Firestick now - the aerial was taking up valuable solar space 😂😀 Thanks for watching Michael and for sharing your views 😀🚌
You’re very welcome Nigel and good to have you along 😀🚌 Yes Chatsworth is a lovely stop - we’ve got to go back now to look round the house - just did the playground, gardens and farm with the little one 😀
Watched video last night as handle on my autotrail did exactly the same thing couldn’t figure it out until I watched. Bought new handle and fitted today , great help 👍🏻
Hi @tt1200gt and I think there would be space - as you can see in the film I hadn't taken the bed all the way to the back door position - there was still some sliding to do - which would, I think, leave enough space for the potapotti. Great van :)) Perhaps drop into a showroom with a tape measure to double check the space left with the bed fully back. Thanks for watching!
Great film again Bob - as the footage of your drive in rolled I realised I’d also stayed there a couple of years ago when having my suspension done, I thought then it merited a return trip & they’ve certainly done a lot of work on the site. Are you pleased with the new batteries/power set up, what led you to the decision to go for 600 amp batteries & are you able to give a rough idea of the total cost? Weighing up options myself.
Hahaha - that made us laugh re the spreadsheet (of course!) Power upgrade is going really well - next mod a couple of weeks away - don't miss it !! :) Don't forget Jonathan at MACSUK is a font of much knowledge and can work solutions to your budget that achieve what you're after - he's very good at that :))
Don’t think the gas bottles should be stored inside the building ,they need to be in a cage locked up outside to keep the building insurance happy . Know this first hand 👍
Very interesting videos I would highly recommend fitting a fire blanket or extinguisher around the battery compartment area. The amount of motorhome/van conversions electrical fires iv been out to have definitely increased over the last couple of years
Thanks for watching @Davercs. I agree one has to be careful with anything electrical which is what took me to a competent and qualified installer. The Victron range of components have their own inbuilt protections and we added our extra temp sensor to monitor the space around the installation site which is functioning well. We do carry fire suppression equipment such as extinguishers as a matter of routine and the van is equipped with smoke alarms too. You're right that carrying out an assessment of risk, and thus mitigating actions, is important in any vehicle one can sleep/live in and our thanks again for your observation. :)
We’ve just had our second trip back to A& E (5 hour trip one way) to have an extra solar panel and re active shock absorbers fitted to match the front . Excellent service I think the up graded rear shocks do make a difference when driving .
Great videos on the new upgrade. Not sure what to upgrade next on our MH looking at self levelling at min but now you have me thinking about solar upgrade. So far I have done the vb semi air which is great and I’ve had the truma aventa comfort Aircon fitted not sure what to do next now lol John
Evening John and decisions, decisions!! 😀 . I think I would put power before levelling - the new system is incredible and having total use of every van function on and off grid is a game changer!! You need a trip to Jonathan!! (A heads up for you - we may be adding something else mid October that would also interest you ……….. ) 😀
@@motorhomingadventures thank you I will keep my eye out for the mid October content 😃 We are at the show at NEC in October so going to have good look at all options for us, with us being still quite newbies we haven’t really done too much off grid just the odd night here and there, but have encountered the low power problems and tripping out the breaker while we were in Italy so what you have had done would really work for us. Keep the great content coming really like what you post. John
Many thanks John and the Multiplus 3000 is the one to solve that!! I’ll be including the power stuff in the next couple of films too as we get used to it. We’re NEC pop up Mon to Thursday 😀👍
@@motorhomingadventures I’m not at NEC till Saturday work commitments lol Hopefully our paths will cross one be good to nav a good old chat to you about travelling in France John
😀 Well of course you’re right but while I can still climb the steps of the van without additions from that well known company Stannah, I’ve got to explore the corners of Europe 😂😂 Thanks for watching as always 🚌👍
Very interesting video as I am looking at this kit for our travels next year. The cost of this is set up is my only concern at the moment and whether or not I would recoup and benefit of such an investment. The motorhomer that does the occasional weekend away and maybe a weeks holiday every now and again i don’t see that it’s necessary to have all that but for us that are retired now and can travel for 90 days in every 180 days it is a dream set up. As someone who is looking to change over to Lithium, I have certainly been investigating some of this kit and getting costs from various suppliers so thank you Bob for doing the hard work in finding a reputable installer & supplier who knows his stuff and is approved 👍😀. All the best and look forward to some updates on the equipment performance. Take Care Drew & Linda 🏴
Hi Drew & Linda and many thanks for that. Yes agreed that it is a significant investment and I, like you, deliberated about it for a fair while before tracking down MACSUK but it was always on my radar as a move to self sufficiency that I wanted to make for those extended travels in Europe that you describe and indeed the UK as sites charge more commonly for electric as a separate item and off gridding is achievable just about anywhere if desired. It was also about just that daily use where everything works off grid, and on EHU, in the same way (bar the fridge!) and of course the technology that allows you to monitor everything in an efficient way. A power upgrade was the top of the list closely followed by the oven and a better rear camera - so back to the list ........ !! Thanks Guy's and you know the man to come to when that upgrade time arrives !!
Many thanks Carl and a smaller one may indeed fit - a 50 and or perhaps a 125cc or a mini moto style (which I’ve seen in Southern Europe a fair bit) - I have seen it done but like the garage use for other things - BBQ, kayak, and ‘stuff’ 😀 - so easy on that little trailer though and great for getting into towns and cities :)) (Another subscriber found our exact model van two weeks ago - same age and only 3k miles - an amazing bargain!!)
Interesting video that I’ve enjoyed watching. This is a set up only a few of us will be able to afford but you can at least pick out parts that will make motorhoming a lot more comfortable. For the motorhomer that does the occasional weekend away and maybe a weeks holiday every now and again i don’t see that it’s necessary to have all that but for the people that work remotely or indeed retired and can travel for long periods of time this is a dream. As someone who is looking to change over to Lithium, I’ll certainly be investigating some of this kit, Thanks again for a great informative video
Many thanks for that Mike and yes you are spot on - the fun of retirement and all those crazy hours of working life that allow us to realise these dreams now. It is incredible tech and with Europe's open arms to motorhomes and extensive park up facilities, with or without power supplies, it allows us to really live our travelling to the full. I always like to see a return on investment, and we will get a return, accepting it will take a fair few stop overs to cover the initial outlay !! Agreed re fitting the tech to your budget too - there are a lot of options for that - that's what Jonathan at MACSUK is good at too :)
@user-xb1bj8yi2d You can also go down the powerbank route. 👍 Lots of types and prices are still coming down. Ecoflow Delta or pro with solar and alternator charger. You can add to it as you need and easily move it to the next van.
All victron mppt, dc:dc chargers specify installation vertically with 10cm free space all around. Your mppt are way too close. Fully expect the installation instructions for your inverter/charger are the same. You will experience charge debate due to incorrect install.
Thanks for watching Nik and for your observations - we have achieved the space above and below the MPPT's that is required as air travels through the void from the seat gaps and vents - there isn't a side by side restriction. The XS is vertical and in a void and there is no stipulation for vertical mounting in respect of the Multiplus but your comments are appreciated and we will of course continue to monitor the system performance via the amazing VRM and Cerbo interface and compare with expected performance in case we need to tweak anything. Space is often at a premium in this and indeed much smaller vehicles and siting in this way is not at all uncommon. Fingers crossed and thanks again for your input :))
Great observation there. As Bob says, we will monitor all the system components for any degrade of power transfer and we have at least 2 options for easy relocation of the XS if required. Thank you! Jonathan
Another great informative video Bob, thanks 👍 Brilliant setup now, be interesting to see it in action on your travels, doubt you'll be using much gas 😊 Looking forward to the app also, well done both of you 👏 👍
Hi Bob , really interested to hear how you get on with your all singing & dancing new oven ? Our oven is also pretty much useless and we do most of our cooking with an air fryer . Enjoying your videos mate , very informative 👍
Many thanks indeed as always GH for your feedback and we certainly will be featuring the new system on a regular basis, including the oven usage. Having seen it in other vans that Jonathan has done and seen their excitement with the change and ease of use I've no doubt you may be getting one!!!! :))
Really interesting vlog Bob (as ever). As our van celebrates it’s third Bday, I too am now about to go Lithium. I’m interested to understand what your workings were to get to the 600 Amp requirement as I’m still debating with self how much we need? P
Missed this reply Peter - nothing too scientific - never imagined getting 600ah until a chat with MACSUK that sewed the seed of moving the whole battery box which opened up a load of options and I then looked at the longest we had been static so far in one place which was c12 days and did a few rough calculations of say 12 days on the Aire at Morzine but every van will be different - and of ciurse it fitted the budget, albeit top end!!!
Bob & Nicky, where have you been - as we sit out our Brexit ban we’ve not had any of your travels to inspire!! Missing your Vlogs! Hope you’re both well. P
Evening Peter and thank you for checking in!! Just back from Essex after a weeks intensive upgrade work - film out in a day or two plus a couple more in the pipeline!! We’re still alive and thriving Peter 😍🚌👍
18:50 yeah, its a nice to drive than a standard cab versions, but i would be afraid in case of accident... A class must fold like a paper compared to the standard cab versions... however very nice review, and also pretty decent interior design this time from mobilvetta.
Many thanks for that @R1SO and it is a nice van albeit I'd always go 4.4 ton version personally for load carrying. There is a lot of glass but it still has to pass the stringent European standards for crash testing, as other commercial/leisure vehicles do, so would be similar to most vehicles on the road as a result of that in respect of outcomes on impact. Fingers crossed we never need to test that theory :)) Thanks for watching :)
I am sure this has been asked before, but i cannot see it in any of the other costing videos. Is it possible that you could provide the spreadsheet itself as we are looking at buying a motorhome shortly and it would be nice to see all the figures and especially see the things we never thought about. Many thanks if that is possible.
Morning Paul and thanks for watching - more than happy to share a copy - if you direct message us from our Facebook site, or website, of the same name, if you have that option, or reply with your email here and we can have an email chat :)) Exciting times ahead 🎉🚌
