Mars reef aquarium, newbie reefer here and this channel is all about reefing experiences and sharing gained knowledge in keeping a reef tank, saltwater aquarium or marine tank as they call it. Channel is created to log my tank activities and share with newcomers to this hobby and those trying to start or will start their own reef tank soon. Hopefully the guru’s in this hobby will notice us and help us as well grow our saltwater aquariums. we have instagram account as well "mars reef" you can also check that out and support if you like reef aquariums or anything about reef habitats in a box.
Hey your tank is so cool I’m just curious if this has to be done when the guppies are still babies so they can grow up into it, or if I can get adult fancy guppies and just put them into my reef? Should my tank be around 1.023 instead of 1.026?
Thank you mate the mature guppies survive better, the key is very slow acclimation, you will need to set up a bucket or another small tank with adjustable heater and a drip device from your main tank. at least 4 hours. i did mine four hours, the mature guppies survived and then gave birth to small guppies, the babies got eaten by my wrasse and boxer shrimp in the end and then the big guppies they got bullied by the clown and the guppies sadly declined in number because of this one by one
Your shrimp, yellow corris wrasse and if u hv any anemone or coral, they may eat molly. Some fish like clownfish are smart and kill and bury fishes. Beautiful aquarium 😀. U r doing great work👍
They wouldn't have survived though. Your thoughts process is ridiculously stupid. Let's keep all fish on salt water in freshwater sin since all freshwater leads to the ocean....what a loser.
Good video…With that choice in music I felt I was watching a documentary. Cleaner shrimp are sensitive to salinity changes. I had a bad batch of salt and now check every batch to make sure my Alk and salinity are close to what the display is running.
Thank you I am working on a camera i bought so that i can post more clearer videos its just that its hard to keep up with these videos and juggle life as a nurse and family with 2 kids. I am now checking every new batch, I think its the wrasse if i remember the six line was here before which picks on it every time
I’ve had this wrasse 2 years now and very small, plans of having a bigger tank and i hope you click subscribe and the notification bell so that you can follow this wrasse grew more and to a bigger tank
I bought an XL fire shrimp. boy was he huge, and he died 6 months later without any warning or symptoms. Bought a medium size cleaner shrimp and he died about 1 year later, same no warning or symptoms. Online it says these guys live 2-3 years, so maybe it's just their time? Ideally would hope to find small sizes so they could live the longest. by the time we get them, they might be a year old or something...
Hi Archie hope your ok as well as your tank, yes I am back so much happened and just did not had time to film and do this channel I did not know it is hard work. I have a new camera but it is so hard to use i am learning hoping to improve the quality of videos I will upload
they both can grow corals even sps the xr15 radions are at 47% the ai prime is at 80% switched corals on each they both lived its really a matter of usage the radions are more powerful maybe you can hang them higher. but you can have same results it will now depend on your aquarium maintenance. they almost the same some features like cloud and storm is not available on the ai prime also there are presets saved in the radions choose and forget. ai you can download presets from the internet but its much on your own. Basically both can keep corals and make your aquarium bright and. very colorful.
I lost a wood / bamboo shrimp today, hes been quite lethargic for about 5 days, stays at the bottom, doesnt hide anymore, not seen him eating then I was checking in him today & he literally jumped up then landed back down on his back, absolutley stumped, I have another shrimp who seems fine, even after a fresh molt, snail & fish all happy & healthy, no ideas other than he was old.
I am sorry to hear mate, sometimes we cannot really foresee what will happen, we cannot watch our aquariums the whole time, it can be of age or something happened like nature does. Can be of age or something an illness but as long as the others are ok it should be fine, i had an arrow crab munching all the bristle worms but then one day suddenly it died the boxer shrimp absolutely live and kicking. They have their own ecosystem inside already and i guess its like out of control already what will happen they are like on auto pilot mu evo is just every two weeks water change and its absolutely on its way to maturity
the peppermint shrimp devoured it, even the snakelock anemone i had which split in two the shrimp ate it my peppermint shrimp is so big now, hopefully can post an update soon and back to posting vids loads happened
it did but it was so weak my peppermint shrimp aiptasia eating one which my tank is free now even my snakelock anemone from my friend was eaten by my shrimp, the snakelock even split in two to try and survive from the shrimp hut failed so i dont have any kind of anemone inside the evo right now.
Yes the fluval evo is still up and running but the skimmer is back coz i killed all the cheato because of vibrant, i for got take the cheato out, but i have refugium in my waterbox which is very succesful in keeping nitrates and phosphates at level
