Man now I get why Jan banned items on his nuzlockes. They're fucking broken Also Jan underestimated Wobbuffet. It's such a good Pokémon for nuzlockes if you know how to use it (and specially if you abuse items lmao)
The fact that Jan actually gave him the benefit of the doubt with him not knowing the typing chart is WAAAY nicer than I’ve seen him before. Like, I recently started playing Pkmn again, and it only took me a week or two to learn the Gen 2-5 typing chart. Sure the intricacies of the less common types are going to take a little time (Tbh I still can’t remember off the top of my head how Bug and Poison interact with everything), but he really should know how the hard counters like Dragon and Steel work 😅 And he really said Palkia was Flying type… Bruh lol
Wow, I paused RIGHT before Jan’s speech defending him for not knowing the chart 😅 I don’t think he’s necessarily at fault for not knowing the basics, but I’ve gotten the impression over the years that xqc plays a persona of being a laughable idiot, and so he just acts quickly so that he’ll make mistakes and entertain his audience instead of thinking everything through. When he actually thinks, you can tell he is somewhat smart. But most of the time he just lets mistakes go to make his audience laugh, and that’s when I feel like his lack of knowledge is actually not great.
but i guess that doing this makes you lose the point of a nuzlocke, which is: whenever a pokemon dies, you feel like all that time wasted was in vain, and cause of that, you want them to be alive as much as possible. when you lose a pokemon leveled up by rare candies, its just a unfortunate loss, while losing a pokemon leveled up by grinding makes you feel more pain and regret of not taking good care of that mon. (btw, sry for the bad english, its not my first language)
This would be more fun if they couldn't use the calculator 😊. Seems like your cheating then viewers if they know the rages we want to see pain and euphoria.
Shouldn't cheat anyway. I dont get how ypu can say youve clocked a game using cheats. It's not counted if you cba with the grind don't act like you've just completed game when you've used cheats. Just do it properly. Its lazy and should not count as completed or anything. Speed runners that use glitches. Anyone can glitch and cheat. Not hard or amazing. Do it properly
“Burn’s attack drop doesn’t factor in” Ok but Jan then shows a graphic saying that it DOES still factor in in Gens 3 and 4, and those are the two that matter the most sooo… Yes, it still factors in lol
Wait I don’t get how he used the Pokémon center if he said he wasn’t allowed to at the start. Is he just not allowed to leave caves to heal? Or is he not allowed to heal for the whole game?
6:16 actually a better way to do it is to just run up and down the stairs when u enter the sewers until u get ur encounter. Because ur rival is waiting for u at the bottom of the stairs and if u run up and down the stairs pokemon will still appear so instead of buying repels u should just run up and down the stairs to get ur encounter and then meet ur rival at the bottom of the stairs
I don't even do nuzlock or difficulty hacks but I almost always play pokemon emulator games with cheats. I got bored of it at some point and managed to beat fire red without cheats. But God the grinding sucked. I refused to use the 6 Rare candies I had until the elite 4 to get my team to level 70.
Procrastination is one hell of an issue we all face. It gets mundane, you lose the fun you once had, everything is just so easy at this point, so why work hard when something halfassed is gonna pay the bills too? You become lonely. I know how you feel, and I'm genuinely with you. I've never been on your Twitch, I prefer your RU-vid videos. I'm glad you notice this unhealthy pattern and recognized it before the inevitable burnout was about to come. I've seen you grow throughout all those years, you've grown a community, gained a bunch of friends and collab with others. I'm genuinely proud of you. One thing that should be remembered though, is that by using this method, you can lose out on EVs. To be fair, unless it is an insanely difficult mod/challenge, min-maxing by optimizing EVs is kind of unnecessary. But it can be the deciding factor.
