I saw her with Jeff Beck in 1999. There’s a DVD available of their performance on that tour in Japan. She was remarkable, finger tapping melodies and playing all the synth voicing with her guitar too.
I had a different perspective on this song a couple of weeks back. The first guitar phrase state the complaint, the pain and grief that is the theme of this song, I feel a clear sadness that is just barely contained as when one tries to keep their composure under the pressure of river of tears try to burst out from below. The next guitar phrase starts out trying to suppress the wave of emotions even more, But then it's too much to hold back and it all explodes. We are drawn in and can hear and feel the depth of all the feeling, loud and raw and unconstrained. I think I can empathize and feel a level of understanding. Even as the music fades out and the song still cries away one can be hopeful that at least to some extent some of the pressure has been let off, and the sobbing will eventually be over.
I have the great privilege of seeing this Queen of the Guitar recently, shes 67, one year younger than me and she is PHENOMENAL..... Jennifer YOU TRULY ROCK...... Plus you are a nice person ❤❤❤
Damn, its so sad to hear her try to emulate Michaels vocals, i get goosebumps. Its like i hear his voice, in human nature, off thr wall, smmoth criminal...hes sorely missed in today s wasteland..
