Thank you. I don't know much about electrical work. I saw a system with a relay switch that I thought would work and I decided to use it. It has been working great
Yes I admit to being very surprised to know that chickens can swim.. I tried it myself lol.. But for a short time..because their feathers are not waterproof and end up drowning
Man, you did a bunch of research before you did this. I came to your channel from a Lexus screen tutorial. Saw a bunch of other videos. I knew that took some time to build and do. You really must love your chickens. It’s like my parents, they’ll raise chickens if they were allowed to in their neighborhood. My parents love stuff like that. Dang, that’s a good amount of investments for your chickens, I know they love that stay. That’s pretty awesome for your chickens. Awesome content, I’m certain this will give a lot of people ideas, thanks for sharing!
Thank you, they’ve definitely grown on me! This is my first time being around chickens and I watched a lot of videos preparing for them. I forgot to mention a lot in the video, but I hope it helps some people.
That’s a nice beach to swim in. Clear, not that much waves, good for the kids. Of course it’s not comparable to the resort beaches in Hawaii, Puerto Rico, or Bali, but still good if you’re a local or just traveling through. Can’t really say I ever saw a chicken swam before. I see chickens lose all the time in the Key’s and certain parts of Florida. Good memories when I went down there a few times.
I've been all over the world and the panhandle of Florida has the best sand I have seen. But like you said the beaches in Florida don't compare to Pacific Island beaches. She was a natural swimmer, effortlessly floating certainly helps!
One question. Why did you make a video about a part you were unsure of would work without telling your viewers the post-install result? 🤔 I don't understand humanity
I know it has been a year since this video was uploaded but I am currently stuck in a situation on how I should be able to connect the front view camera to the AV in port on my carplay unit (a new unit brand named CarPodGo3 Pro) I ordered a switch too so now I'm not sure what do I do next.
Does your camera plug fit into your CarPlay screen AV input or is your issue with turning on your camera with a switch? What camera and switch did you order? I found a camera plug that fit my screen input of 2.5 mm.
@@austinc691 Yes my camera plug fits into my carplay AV Input, my main issue is turning the camera on with the switch, the camera that I have came included with the carplay unit, and the switch is on amazon called "Car DIY Switch Paste Type wired LED switch Rocker Switch ON/OFF Universal DC12V Switch" and I apparently can't put in a link to the switch because youtube would likely automatically delete the comment I replied with.
It looks like for my camera, it only has 1 red wire (+) and I tested it on my car's battery (+) and it worked, just that I gotta figure out the switch and how to start powering them.
@@k.skyl1n3zz I'm not sure about setting it up like that. I would think you would need a relay. I put the relay and switch that I used in the description. That will definitely work and that switch looks OEM if you have an empty dash tab.
@@austinc691 yeah for the empy dash tab, none of them are the size of my 2013' CRV but they're relatively large buttons. Ok so I gotta look at relays, thank you I will see how this will go.
Hello, I would like to provide you with our Carplay module, which is installed on the factory screen. Please provide me with your contact information. Thank you!
Austin. I wanted to thank you for all the help. Your video was amazing in detail. My gx is ready just like yours !!!! You are the man. Well done my friend. Anthony in N. Carolina
The logo at the screen start up is programmed to an image you pick by the screen manufacturer. The logo on the bottom of the screen is in the description portion of the video. Someone commented the store selling them is no longer open. I'm sure you can find them online.
Unfortunately I don't. There may be other shops that sell similar. I'd go with the same size as mine. I think white, silver, or possibly black would look good. I picked that color on mine because it matches the Lexus logo color below the OEM screen.
Great detailed video, setup looks great. Where do you have your camera mounted for that view? Also, is it necessary to cut out a notch into the console (where the wires leave the monitor) to get the panels to close or can it close with pinching the wires?
Thank you. The camera is underneath the lexus logo. You can view it on my other video about the LED light bar. I think it is necessary to cut the notch in the console so the wires don't pinch and the OEM screen piece can be put back on. If you do it correctly you can't see the part that is cut out when the OEM screen is put back on. Put a piece of tape on what is showing with the OEM screen in place. Remove the screen and cut the notch below the tape. Hope that helps.
Awesome video. Quick question for you, how did you install your raptor lights? I saw GXBob made a bracket for them but I am not really interested in removing my entire bumper to do that mode and changing a single light that goes bad seems like a nightmare. We're you able to install with the bumper still on the vehicle? I ordered a set from eBay but can figure out a good way to do it without them being crooked. Any info will be extremely helpful.
I didn't remove the bumper. My lights had a hole on each side. I used small zip ties to tie them to the bumper. You can’t see the zip ties unless you look for them. They are hard wired into the exterior fuse box to a spot that only has power when the vehicle is on. This is how they look ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hHk2RU2b2Tc.html
@@BobFinklemiesterYou're welcome. The holes in the lights were small and regular zip ties may not fit. I think I used 4 inch zip ties from Walmart. Good luck!
@@austinc691 I appreciate you letting me know, I was planning on doing this install tomorrow morning, I will be sure to use some 3m tape to help hold them in place. Thanks man!
I have my phone connected to Android Auto on carpuride with bluetooth. The carpuride is connected to the car audio with bluetooth. The android auto directions are through the car audio but when i get a call the call audio goes to the speaker on carpuride. It does not play through the car audio. Is there a fix for this such as android auto directions and phone call play through the car audio? Thanks!
I'm not sure about Android Auto. There is a place on my iPhone that lets me select where I would like to accept the call from. I choose the GX because the microphone is better. I think the GX settings allow you to choose the preference as well to receive phone calls.
Hi there, thank you for the detailed walkthrough. May I ask, while the aux cable provides higher sound quality, is it necessary? Is it possible to play the sound through Bluetooth from the unit to the car? Thank you
Yes I play audio through the car's bluetooth sometimes. But if you want to play audio and get turn by turn directions from CarPlay then you need to play the audio through the CarPlay. I never plug my phone into the CarPlay wire unless I want to charge my phone. I play through bluetooth carplay if I want CarPlay audio. I wanted to install everything possible so I didn't have to take the dash apart again to install something. Hope this wasn't explained poorly.
@@austinc691 thank you, regarding the power to the fuse box. I ordered the part you use, can you take a pic of where it should be connected? I assume it’s in a section where the CarPlay unit will turn on and off as you start/stop the engine. Thank you.
@@carloxsaysYou can kind of see it at 9:54 of the video. The power supply is tapped into the 10 amp fuse at spot number 35 for the "cool box". You can view the diagram here: fuse-box.info/lexus/lexus-gx460-urj150-2010-2017-fuses The power to that fuse is only on when the car is on. The CarPlay screen will turn on and off with the engine.
First modification on my new 23 GX,Yes you can feel the difference car is more responsive about the MPG is more easy to do 15-16 City 35-40mph and 22-23 highway 65-70mph.
Damn. This is exactly what I was envisioning in mine. What did you use for the bracket in the back. The screen being wobbly would annoy the shit out of me
The magnets are in the video description. Absolutely zero wobble. make sure to attach the magnets to the back of the screen with epoxy. There is an unlisted video in this comment section that shows part of the back of the screen. Good luck!
@@elizabethgomez9076 You can kind of tell if you look at and angle and know what you are looking for. But I was surprised it turned out so good. Give it a try!
By the way, thanks for sharing this video. This was not even on my radar and GROM is too expensive for what it is in my opinion. Was looking into the Alibaba 2022 style screen but the additional volume knob is another deal killer for me.
@@nangelg You're welcome. The screen is not synced with the OEM screen but it has a sensor that adjusts the screen brightness just like the OEM screen. I hear GROM slows down the unit and is not reliable. Give it a go and let me know if you have any questions.
How did you take the carpuride decal off? I saw the description of the Lexus decal, but how you remove the carpuride decal from the screen? Also, how is the screen being held up? You screw it on? Very clean set up, I did basically the exact same thing you did but on an Lexus RX350.
Thank you. I covered up the logo with a black permanent marker, then put the decal over that. Screen is being held up by magnets that are in the video description.
@@austinc691so my Lexus decal came in today and I put it on and it looks great. Thanks for showing me how to remove the carpuride decal with a permanent marker. I have a question about those magnetic holders you put in the description to hold and mount the screen. I see that you used both of the magnets. How is it holding up now? Does it move when you drive over bumps? I’m thinking about doing the same if it’s good and sturdy.
@@tpp4007 You're welcome, glad I could help. The screen hasn't move a mm since I put it on. each mount come with two magnets for each mount. One small really strong circle one and oval magnet that is the shape of the other magnet that attaches to the dash. I put the really strong small circle magnet between the back of the screen and the oval magnet. The oval magnet attaches to the dash magnet. I then put epoxy around the edges of the oval magnet and the back of the screen so the one the magnet that is attached to the back of the screen doesn't fall off. Sounds confusing, but I hope it helps. I'll do a quick explanation video for you.
