Surprised no one commented on R-7818 the potential for potential use as a HHS housing site for illegal immigrants. The "moniker" of affordable housing is a smoke screen
I can't really leave. But I'm further inland. In the shady hills area. I've ridden out tons of hurricanes in the past 40 years. The roads are too crowded.
Thank you all for keeping us informed of the most important Hurricane information. I live in Virginia and follow your briefings as all my family live in your area and have evacuated. Be safe!
My mother-in-law lives is 85 and lives in a 55 and over trailer park in zone D. She intends to stay. Noone can talk her into leaving. There is another lady fro NY who also intends to stay in her trailer.
what are plans to establish communication after the storm hits... what emergency tower/tech will be available to people? will shelters have ways for families to communicate? many family members in Pasco, I'm watching, praying and worrying here in VT.
Your website helpful and get info now before power out and free rides applaud you just worried about communication cuz my dad passed year ago and she's alone so will be at friends 😢
Evacuation came too late I was looking already for mom to leave Monday and Tampa put in order closed what the heck and flight canceled not ok and she's zone E so those not taking it serious not advisable different kind of storms shell stay with friends but we rebooked flight and yesterday even was canceled not cool
The entire 55 and up community won't do anything because they are zone E, or just outside. Not even boarding up. 10 miles from the Gulf and they are staying in their living rooms. My MIL refuses to leave.
Here in Pasco County, federal food aid is a disaster. They did not advance the food stamps. I have been waiting for help since Hurricane Helen and nothing. Pasco was not prepared for any hurricane or storm that has happened. There is no water, no ice or gasoline. A complete disaster. In Pinellas County, I have family and friends and I cannot believe how easy everything is and it is more populated than ours.
You did. It mention manufactured homes and RVs To me this is obvious, but e of I75 through Zephyrhills it’s a trailer park haven. I see many residents questioning whether they should evacuate. If this was mentioned in your news conf I would have copied the link and forwarded it to the trailer parks in our area.
My parents have a winter home in Hunters run and have decided to not go until its safe, now they're not sure if they will be going this year. Depends on how things turn out. I'm wondering if Zepherhills have been in the protection zone for so long, 100 to 200 years since they were even hit, that they won't realize about the danger until its too late? From what I can tell on the maps, its on the border of the surge line between the purple and red lines. I hope I'm wrong but unsure at this point.
I hope my sister who lives in Zephyrhills is watching this. She’s a stubborn Irish woman just like me but she needs to know that her mobile home will not withstand this kind of weather onslaught. My prayers go out to each and everyone of you as we just survived hurricane Helene in eastern Tennessee. Peggy please leave now! 😢😢😢🙏🙏🙏
So my house has taxable value of 500,000. If I hear these Crook's right. It's $55 per 100,000. So I'll owe $277 taxes on roads I probably will never drive? My neighbor, whose house value 180,000 only owes $55+ but yet he drives twice as much as I do. And these guys are all giddy about this new tax. Say no more. Now you know who has to go.
