Awesome stuff.. It's good that not much people return to those old gems, because we have less competition to deal with and can do whatever the F we want with these amazing instruments!
Most stunning Proteus demo ever. I used the slightly later Proteus FX exclusively on my track "Hagagatan 10" by the way. I totally love your Depeche Mode vibes especially on the last track. It had fitted excellently on "Music For The Masses". Didn't even know such a looped piano existed on the original Proteus. Back in 1989 the hype for the EIII-based Proteus for sek 10.495:- was enormous. The machine was delayed so I finally used my prepaid sek 1495:- towards the purchase of a Atari 1040 STFM and I couldn't afford the Proteus when it arrived. So I started sequencing with my Juno-2 and a TX81Z instead. Later I had a few Proteus modules but I was never as inspired by them as you clearly was here. Beautiful video. Subscriber now. Will watch again. Stunning work! Best Patrick aka Bitley.
Thank you very much! Yeah, in the early 90's all this equipment was expensive. Some time ago I bought the Proteus very cheaply on Ebay. I still like some of the sounds pretty much and despite the small display the editing works well. Screwing it is a bit like time travel. Thanks for watching:)
Wow, unexpectedly epic. Probably the best nine and a half minutes I’ve spent on RU-vid today. Lips like Blood is awesome…I love my Rocket- thank you. I subscribed so as not to miss what comes next.
👉Your video is very beautiful 👌Video I like it a lot. I've been trying to talk to you for a long time, and I've mail you today. I am waiting for your mail reply. Give me a chance to talk to you. Thanks 🙏🙏🙏
Wow! When I though I saw all similar demos vids from this sy22.. I encountered with this!!!! A complete piece of musical demo.. showing for what this synth was made to. Is is like siting and listening to a soundtrack. All the video is a extremely different, rare and awesome taste to transport us to a different textures.. dimensions maybe? Thank you very much! You've accomplished! Great video.
Hola muy buen vídeo, aquí una explicación del volca Keys en español sobre el funcionamiento básico: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TCtm8INFraQ.html
"Dark" is something that modern synths really lack. They just sound too artificial and computerized. Too bright, clear, custom tailored, and micromanaged to be something that makes you think of real things when you listen. Modern synths sound just like what they are: Computer programs running with thousands of schizophrenic parameters competing, rather than one unique unified "organic" sound with seamless integration of its parameters.
I had this one about 13 years ago and I really liked some of the sounds. I've never really been able to make a comprehensive comparison to the SY35. Sometimes I wonder which one I'd enjoy more in my mixes. I currently use a Yamaha MX61, Behringer Odyssey, TG500 and Wavestation SR.
