Hi, I know this is from years ago but in the odd chance you see this, how did you screw the skylight white beam to the roof? I can't seem to get the screws through - would really appreciate any help
This is probably Astra H 1.7. Comon problem for her and it is not ECU. It is UEC black boc with fuses at right side. U must dissamble it and use electronic contact cleaner. Keep in mind while U do this to turn off battery. Problem is that water gets in contacts and car goes in safe mode this happens in rainy days or winter time. The repair is almost free but it will repeat it because plastic is deformed and every time when water gets in it will do this....
i see your missing the spoiler caps on the back. if you go on the Xr4i facebook group they will sell you some reproduction ones that are identical to the originals. They will need painting, but so will your car at some point. don't get into a bidding war on ebay for original ones which are no different or you will be £90 plus in the hole......all the best with it. PS I just started mine up and it fired up in the same amount of time as yours. once its got fuel in the injectors it turns over straight off. not bad for a nearly 38 year old car!
its made more money sitting in your garage than if you had stuck the money in the building society.. its worth throwing money at to get it prime. its a keeper and you would be a mug to sell it as it is.
