Hi Rich, thank you for your question. We have not had a lot of customers who have reported the film peeling. When cutting the slatwall you can place painters tape on it prior to cutting to mitigate any jagged edges of the film. If ever you do get a mark you can use a black sharpie to hide the imperfections as needed.
@prolat do the steps for the electtical box apply to the ProCore product? Do I still make a cutout of the aluminum core, if my box straddles two panels?
Good question! The steps would be the same for PROCORE, or any of our slatwall types. Please let us know if you have any more questions on how to do this.
The screws we provide with our Slatwall are wood screws. When installing the Slatwall panels on metal studs you will need to get 1 inch or 1 1/2 inch self tapping screws.
You can install the slatwall floor to ceiling. You would have to cut a slat horizontally, and typically you cut the bottom portion of the panel. This way you don’t cut away the interlocking/ screw cavity parts of the slat panel. Usually we install the cut panel at the very bottom. There are ways to install with cutting the last panel at the very top of the wall too but requires different steps. Our technical support would be happy to guide you through this. We have a video “How to Install Slatwall Extra's” where we discuss cutting the bottom panel to be level, but it is the same concept. Let us know if you have any questions.
@@ProslatInc thank you for clarifying. Does Proslat sale additional screws? With my studs being 12inches apart and not 16, I am having to use two extra screws per panel. I been to a couple hardware stores and can’t seem to find a great match. Any help would be appreciated.
@@huevosrancheros702 Hi Don, my pleasure. Reach out to us from our website (dont think I can put email addresses in youtube comments) we would be happy to send you extra screws/ hardware we would just kindly ask that you cover the shipping cost which would not be a lot considering the package will be small. Thank you,
did you have to insert wood stud backing on other side of receptacle to screw the aluminum frame to? I believe I have wood stud only on one side of each receptacle, which would introduce a weak point in aluminum support
Hi Andy, I would check your local fire safety codes to be 100% sure which walls require drywall. The product can be installed directly onto studs - no drywall.
This product has not been tested for 18” stud centres, it was done for 16, which would be 75 lbs per sq.ft. If you have 18” stud centres I would opt for our Procore Slatwall or higher. This will give you 200 lbs per sq.ft
Man I love your attention to detail!! I am a general contractor and am adding a couple walls in my personal garage. After seeing this video, I am going to do the entire thing!! Thanks for a most relaxing 7 minutes . It was perfect until the very end!!! Lol. Man, when you out the cover plate on and didn’t make the screws even, it was like a chalkboard! Ha ha. 😂.
I want to order a specific size for my office room which I am converting to my new gun room. I noticed the carbon fiber laminate. I absolutely am sold on the idea but to be honest, the price is a little bit high, and yes I know the tech is worth it. 400-500 dollars on just the walls is a bit over the amount right now, but if you guys could custom create sizes I think it would be worth the buy.
Hi there! Thank you for your interest. The Carbon Fiber has definately become popular, especially for gun storage. We currently offer the Procore and Procore Plus in 4 x 8 ft lengths. You can cut the panels to fit custom configurations. The box comes with 10 panels so you can choose to configure the wall as a 2 ft high x 16 ft wide if desired. When doing custom configurations extra trim maybe required. We are happy to help you identify what materials would be needed depending on your intended configuration. Just let us know how we can help :) Thank you!
Directions are poor. You have to show the orientation of each piece as this would save so much time. You should also show close-ups of how they connect. I have an hour into this and I’m not even close to being finished.
I am a little disappointing. You should state that this rack CANNOT attach to the PRO SLAT wall. One would assume it would.. I now realize this will not attach to be slat wall, and I have to find a new space. I do not have any space for this now and I’m assuming that I have to pay for the shipping?
Hi Chris, You can mount the Prorack onto Slatwall. Please reach out to us to acquire the free mounting bracket (shipping is also free for the mounting bracket). Thank you,
So pissed off with this product. The panels do not interlock as mentioned in 2:36. I've bent the hell out of the sides of my panel trying to make this work. Any suggestions would be great as I at the point of getting a refund.
I assume I can install over electrical outlet by removing cover cut a hole (making sure I have it laid out for the center of a slat) and reinstalling plug and cover, correct?
Says in the video that the lift needs a minimum of 3ft by 4ft of open space and the motor mount needs to be a minimum of 3ft from any walls or obstructions. Thats where the tape measure comes in. Stud finder is obviously used to find the ceiling joists if you have a finished ceiling. If you or ceiling joists are exposed then you can omit the stud finder.
I have a very specific area I want the wall to be centered on but what if the studs don’t start and end on the ends of the slat wall? I know it may not have the highest strength possible but is it still doable if the end don’t exactly end on studs? I would just avoid loading the ends with anything heavy….
Why does everything ive watched show it having two full lengths of side trim yet when you order the kit the side trim has already been cut to half the length. Now entire project on hold until I get the full length pieces. Just think maybe shouldn't show it like that's how it comes when a 4×8 kit comes with the 4' side pieces already cut to 4'. I ordered two sets thinking I just wouldn't cut them and use each from each set per side to be the proper length for a full 8ft. It really doesn't make sense as to why you would precut them unless to require another purchase or maybe you are using short pieces from scraps but if not it would really make more sense to just send 1 single full stick which could be cut in half for a 4ft section for both sides or if people buy multiple sets it's still usable don't you think? 🤔
Hi Nappy! We're sorry to hear that our videos caused you some confusion and some inconvenience in starting your project. We have changed the boxes for multiple reasons. One of the main reasons is that unfortunately, we had to evolve our product packaging size due to the reality of current shipping standards regarding overlength boxes. We have updated all of our product descriptions to show the changes in the parts list. We even added in our video description that our new packaging comes with the side trims already cut. We are working on a new installation video to show these changes additionally. Please feel free to contact us directly about this issue, and we will try our best to make an unfortunate situation better! Thank you,
Did you end up using drywall anchors? I'm looking to install the 4'x4' wall on a partial wall , measuring basically 4'x4', at home and likely there's no stud between the outside walls.
@@nenadmomcilovic9133you probably could, however the strength of the wall depends on how strong it is secured. So anchoring to drywall might now be the best play
Hi Michael, We hear you & everyone else in the comments. We're in the midst of creating a new video, where the sound/ music will NOT be overbearing. We're sorry!
I wish I knew what hooks were being use for items such as the golf clubs on the wall? Gladiator has a good two bag storage option but I went with Proslat and want something like the gladiator golf storage?
Hi T Charlton! Thank you for your comment, In this video, the golf bag is either on a "Super duty hook" or a "Heavy-Duty U Hook". Please let me know if you have any other questions. Thank you,
@@ProslatInc Thank you so much. I’m working on this project tomorrow over the weekend so I’ll make sure I have the correct hooks. I’m really excited and now I just need to find some thing to store my two motorcycle helmets on for a quick easy getaway.
@@macmovieman1 That's exciting! We have had customers use our Hose/Rope and Extension Cord Holder hook for their helmets in the past. It would depend on the size of your helmet and how you would like it to hang but I think that would be a good option. Thank you,
@@ProslatInc OK, thank you. I just ordered Your hose rope and extension on Home Depot and it should be here for curbside pick up in a week. Getting all the right accessories based on your needs is like an art if you’re not used to doing this.
Love my gator lift. Use it for paddle boards and it’s been excellent. After 4 years of seasonal use it’s squealing when raising and lowering. Where should I oil or grease it? Thx
