How to Cook(e) w/Bill Cooke is a seriously not serious cooking channel. Pretty straight forward really. I have worked in restaurants and my passion for food has taught me even more over the years. These are just some of my favorite recipes and I thought I'd share them with you. Of course, my personality gets in the way sometimes so buckle up. This can get weird!
Now please forgive me, I suck at the camera thing and editing these videos has been challenging. I'm figuring it out slowly but I'm not a pro and it's just me so.... you can't expect much. As I edit the videos I see the humor in it and after crying a little inside I can poke fun at myself a little. Life would hardly be worth living if it weren't for humor! Food is about more than just survival, or at least it should be. If you can't laugh at yourself, someone else will do it for you! Eat, Laugh, Live, Repeat!
This taste like the real deal! All other videos I have seen of "Taco Bell recipes" are a joke. I just found this recipe and have put it to use twice and everybody is shocked how close it is to Taco Bell. His tomato-based red enchilada sauce taste just like Taco Bell too. THANK YOU so much for posting this! Note: I added a tiny bit less oregano and black pepper.
Thanks! It's good to be back. The husky broke my right foot and the walking boot folded my left knee and hurt the mcl. I've had water on the knee 4 times now... yikes! Now for the bad news. I got out of the boot and broke the foot again! It's not as bad this time but it has put a huge wrinkle in my come back plans... dogs are great!
Good to see you back! Interesting story, have to admire the tenacity of Mr. Bell. No way I could have pulled off what he did. How did Wienerschnizel get its name, there not a schnitzel on the menu. That always came across as a bit odd. Anyways cheers.
The name sounded german and it had the word wiener in it. His wife wasn't real bright. I'm assuming she had other qualities a man looks for in a bride 🤔
Great video. I have known a little bit about Glen Bell but this went a lot further. Do some research on Totino's Pizza. I know a bit of how the negotiations went when they sold out to Pillsbury. Leann Chin taught me how to cook rice. Nothing I am willing to put in a RU-vid video though.
I miss Nougles. They used to have the maxi meat burritos. They were huge and had an amazing flavor. The burritos used to be the size of our heads or the size a a big man’s arm.
Absolutely! Thanks for your comment. I finally realized this would make a great video. I have been reading about this story for about 2 years now. I had been to the old Del Taco location in Yermo on a road trip about 20 years ago and started learning some of the history back then. The Der Wienerschnitzel connection was the icing on the cake for me. The fun facts I learn about Rancho Santa Fe blew my mind. Every rich/famous person on earth seems to have a home there. It's their own private enclave out there. It's a VERY well-kept secret!
Will be tryjgn this soon i just got taco bell and their meat portions are so small now it just pusses me off and i cant enjoy the meal .. its all tortilla on a crunchwrap now a days so sad
Would you believe a dog ate my youtube videos? If that dog is a husky named Rufus does it sound more possible? Rufus broke my right foot for me, how thoughtful of him. I have been in a walking boot and I'm not sure what they mean by "Walking". I was trying to do a video and my left knee folded sideways and down went the big man! I didn't even have the camera rolling yet so it's not even a blooper! So I find myself without a leg to stand on at the moment. I have been trying to make ANYTHING to put out until I'm back to cooking again. Hang in there! I'm trying 👨🦽➡️👨🦽➡️👨🦽➡️👨🦽➡️
I'm a truck driver who lives in Ohio. I've had whataburger and I miss it so much. Every time I was in Texas, I made sure to get it. I'll gladly trade you a couple white castles for a whataburger.
Thank you for sharing this recipe. I appreciate your love of truly delicious pizza. I know one thats still making incredible pizza. Pinnochio's Pizza, Cottage Grove, Oregon. Hands down the most delicious pizza i have eaten anywhere. So sad about big O.
That would be rather difficult to do. A big cast iron le cassuelle pot would work but those cost 5x what a deep fryer would run you. The tortilla has to be fried in oil for it to taste remotely correct. If you soaked the tortilla in oil and then baked it in a mold... maybe? I've never tried it and it might burn your house down.
So pleased to see that others miss the Bell Beefer too.! I always called it a Bell Burger .. probably ordered it that way too. Loved those things-- Big Time.!
It was the "bell burger" until they got sued by "big burger" and had to change the name. Seriously, the burger industry took taco bell to court over the name. How stupid!
As someone who hates beans, this is perfect 😂 If you haven't already done it I'd absolutely LOVE to see a copycat of the chili from Sonic 👀 I used to be a frycook there and that chili is addictive 😂
Sure, everything is optional. Msg isn't actually bad for you. Some people have a sensitivity to it, but it's less than 1 in 10 in reality. The glutimate flavor adds a lot of depth to the food it's in so if you can use it the benefit is noticeable. Or skip it if you are not comfortable with it.
I know what you mean. They do not have jalapeños in their pico de gallo, so that is step one. The three cheese blend is the next secret and the one I screwed up here. Lastly, it has to be steamed just right to cook the tortilla and make it softer. Get those three things just right and it's pure nostalgia.
Machaca burrito . . . my go-to breakfast! But, no beans? No rice? No avocado? No PDG? No enchilada sauce? No salsa verde? Juicy - you got some 'splainin' to do!
I quit hangovers years ago as well. This is still amazing! Not that I'm allergic to a beer or two here and there. I just know when to say when. With age comes wisdom...
Chocolate, actually, is in a lot of Mexican and South American Dishes. It isn't solo for coloring. Chocolate powder with meat is a fantastic taste enhancement. I use it for my ox tail, roast pork, chicken, and beef. It works great with spices, changing it into being more melded together. It is a great alternative to those of us who cannot have tomatoes or if you are out of them. I've used it in beef stews and goulash for decades since learning from a Hungarian who put it in when he learned my father was allergic to tomatoes. It is a great thickener too.
