@@ianthecreations3659I have snd it’s difficult to ask for help if the ENTIRE pattern makes no sense.. I can’t imagine her helping me step by step.. the major problem are no pictures.. I’ll never buy another pattern again.. I need precise instructions and a video
Hi, my straps measure 2” wide finished. The connector measures only 1 5/8” top opening finished. How to you cram in the pointed strap area so the connector meets the finished 2” wide edge of the strap? Looks impossible since it’s smaller
I just wanted to say thanks for the tutorial. I plan on making these, in something a bit more utilitarian, for going camping. The different sizes will be ideal for things like fire kits, my various radio bits, and probably cables and batteries etc.
I'm really happy you made this video! I'm a beginner when it comes to sewing, but I had my boyfriend's mom look at the pattern, and she said I could do it even though it's ambitious. I'm watching this video before I start!
I'm cutting mine out now, I shared out the pattern name to my sewing community and one of the ladies made it on one of her lives, I was so excited that someone made something I had suggested! And I did not even create the pattern!
Thank you! I've not done a drop in lining before (opted to bind instead), but your method looks very manageable. Thanks for sharing. Best regards, Anne
Thanks, Claire - very helpful to watch you do your magic with the Yara double cross body bag. I've just started working on it and will go ahead much more confidently now that I've seen you make it.
Just found your channel, thanks for your great videos you make it look so easy. I have just purchased a Janome hd9 sewing machine and hoping that I can make some bags! Love the bags you have sewn and RLR creations. Have you ever made the Carry Along Maker’s Case?
Thank you. I was getting stuck with adding the lining and the shoe pocket etc. Just wish there was a way where the lining was already attached to the top zipper so the last piece isn't such a hassle.
I know this video is kinda old, but when i was using the thread cuter on my tl2010q it would come unthreaded all the time. I stopped using it and just started cutting my thread. It atill does it every once im a while but not nearly as often
When should the foam be added and do you sew it on? I am in the process of making this bag for a Nurse friend and would really appreciate your advice please
@@ianthecreations3659 Hi I have purchased the thicker and normal foam but wasn’t sure at what stage to apply it? Sorry for my confusion. Thank you for getting back to me so quickly I really want to crack on with this and get it finished for her pronto!
If I remember correctly the normal foam goes on before you start it's not in the seams the thicker foam goes in once you have sewn in the laptop pocket , there is also another video of this bag on here doing g a binding finish it's the same apart from the finishing
Thank you. Much appreciated . I only asked as it wasn’t in the video so I was slightly confused as to when it should go in. @@ianthecreations3659 kind Regards Catherine
lol I think you are great! I really enjoyed this tutorial. Thank you for the time and energy you put into this. I have to say it made me laugh when you said “well especially if your name is Clair “because my name is not Clair but I sure feel that way more often than I like! But I can see how much I have improved from all my moments just like that! Thanks again! I really needed help figuring out how to do a front flap for another bag similar to this one.
Hi. I just found your channel and am in awe. You certainly make Rachael patterns come to life as she visualizes them. do you have any plans of continuing adding videos? I'd love to see the Xanadu bags being done on this channel soon. Thank you.
First of all, Both the bags are super cute and I love the fabric you chose. And second of all, I will be creating this bag for my friends baby shower and I was intimidated by the difficulty. I have never made bags before, just clothes. But your tutorial is gonna help me 10000000% Very good job.
Don't feel bad about the bottom lining bit being forgotten; I stitched the bottom lining to the wrong edge of the zipper and had to unpack the whole thing too!
I am in the UK. I think I got mine from amazon not sure had it a while u can definitely sew though washable tape . The other stuff can gum your needle up it will depend on your machine . If the needle gets gummed up you can add a drop of sewing machine oil
just FYI I trimmed off the side panels on the bottom lining them all up and then the top was not lined up so now I'm going to have to fiddle with the bottom of the front and back pieces to make the bottom panel fit.
Yes, you can use what every vinyl you would like Rachel used all vinyl on her bag . The only bit that gets a little thick is the top strap bit as long as your machine can take the vinyl you use . I am In the UK so not sure what the vinyl is like in other countries. You can always join the rlr creations Facebook group and ask in there . Link is in the writing bit
