As someone who’s completely new to synthesisers, this has been so so useful. You explained everything really clearly and with my limited knowledge of sound tech I understood almost everything you said. The only thing I didn’t get was the after touch and the mod envelope - not really sure what they are or what they do but I understand this is more a video explaining how to use them rather than what they do!
All these brands that copy the Hammond sound don't have a lot of self-esteem and inventiveness. Hammond engineers have worked hard to design and manufacture the new portable Hammonds since the XB series (XB1 and XB2) in the 90s, and today jewels of technology which reproduce the sound of tone wheels wonderfully with the SK pro series. , XK and the awesome new B3. These portable Hammonds supplant all copies. The only copy that is closest to Hammond is the Mojo made by Crumar in Italy. That said, playing the piano on an organ keyboard is not easy, the touch is not the same. This is where Nord can be interesting for a pianist who mainly plays the piano and occasionally the organ. But for a self-respecting organist, who, let's say, he has earned his whole life his salary thanks to the vintage Hammond organ, it is an unspeakable infidelity to play on a copy when Hammond offers the best portable organs simulating the phonic wheels. Here is my opinion and in my capacity as a small technical service provider, on 90% of the technical sheets, I note that a Hammond organ, a real vintage like the B3 portable or the current XK series is requested.
I just got a stage 3 and I am realizing that when I use all three of the sound sections, that the organ and synth sections are much louder than the piano section. I need to bring the volume up all the way on the piano section and adjust the other two to get a good mix. Just wondering why you can't raise the volume level higher on the piano section. Thanks.
I'm looking to get stage 3 compact. But im curious if it has the same ability to modify the organ as the 6D. I mainly want B3, do they not offer c3 or a100s? Can u edit key click, leakage? How indepth can you edit the leslie?
I’ve been using the white grand these days instead of the royal grand. Have u given that a try yet ? I’m on electro 6D though. But I midi an FA 08 to the Nord so I can use the weighted keys for the Nord’s piano. I do organ on the Nord itself. Yet to find a decent pad for the piano. Thanks for the video.
