Awesome because I can’t wrap my brain around how you’d angle the cup to account for the difference in width between top and bottom when using the laser horizontally. 🤦🏻♀️😂 I’m sure it’s super simple but my brain can’t brain today. 😂😂😂
@@rsl9594 I tried making these a few different ways. First I tried leveling the top and engraving it, then leveling the bottom and engraving it separately. It was a big fail. I find it works best if you make your design all one piece and only level it once in the center. The bottom get's skewed a little bit but it's really barely noticeable. I guess it depends on the design you choose. But that way the seam stays in the same spot.

You bet! I wish I could get everyone to watch this video! The amount of scammers I see in unmoderated Cricut groups is insane. I think a lot of the Cricut groups are actually RUN by scammers.
It was a very helpful video, thank you! I was left curious about the cost of materials, and not just the cost of the Cricket or the dollar store glasses. What about the materials you had to buy, which I'm sure wasn't cheap.
The materials you buy depends on the project but with the wine glasses, you would only need vinyl and transfer tape. A 12" x 6ft roll of ORACAL 651 Permanent Vinyl is $5.10. The transfer tape I buy is $15 for a 12 x 50 FT roll. Since both of those things come in huge rolls, you use them for a long time across multiple projects. The amount of vinyl and transfer tape you would use on a wine glass would be like pennies.
I learned a trick on my own... If you want to engrave the entire height of the tumbler. Use the 3 metal pegs that come with kit and place them inside and reverse the chuck until they touch the inside wall of the tumbler. Then pull the tumbler away from the no working area and stretch the pattern on the entire height. It works fine for me. I had a customer that insisted on the entire tumbler and I had to please. Sounds like a great idea! The only thing to keep in mind is that it's only a 10w so engraving time is slower compared to the 20 or 40w Visions. If you only make tumblers every once in a while then it's perfect. But if you need to make a ton for a small business, I would choose a higher power one.
I totally agree. You'll never find another laser at that price point that's enclosed with a camera, laser cuts 6mm deep and engraves wood, does huge 40oz rotary engraving, metal engraving andddd super long wood projects. Plus the work area is pretty big and it can be raised for larger objects. It's pretty much a no brainer.
Really nice, quick question? What is the difference between the Vista 10W Rotary Pack - White and Vista 10W + IR Rotary Pack - White. Is the first one not able to handle tumblers or metals etc? Additionally, is it safe for a home setup in terms of electricity consumption and voltage?
The one that says IR comes with the 2w IR (Infrared) laser module. This allows you to engrave shiny metal objects like jewelry and knives. The first one cannot engrave metal. It's safe to use in your home. I have it plugged into a normal 3 prong outlet in a bedroom (office) in my house.
