I studied gunsmithing, and this is my advice, if you ramp has machining marks smooth it with a 2000 grid by hand! (no dremel) until you smooth those marks then polish it by hand or rotary tool, also plug the barrel before do it. If you dont have any feeding problems or machining marks in the feeding ramp leave it as it is because the Black Oxide (Bluing) in the gun parts is a barrier of protection against corrosion.
I can tell a difference in my 1911 after firing tons of jacketed hp ammo and then using my handloaded cast ammo it tries to bind up sometimes from basically flat point tips if the hp ammo start to minutely put tiny pits into the frame feed ramp but they're just enough over time to try to stop my cast swc's. I do this once every couple months because I shoot daily it happens pretty quickly in my pistols when I wasn't shooting so much I didn't have as much of a problem I use a buffing pad and polishing compound on mine I ought to try that mothers brand out, I like using turtle wax buffing compound it works well for me but like you're displaying in the video being light and gentle with the pressure is key to not tearing up the angles and ending up needing a new barrel. Looks great nice and shiny! I always wipe down with oil after, my carry gun is so old the bluing has worn off and I wipe it down daily with oil to prevent as much rust as possible, after rebluing my beater three times I just gave up on the bluing lol gonna try cerakote next
Dude you're rounding crisp corners that were machined for a purpose. In a gunsmith or machinist terms....your a idiot. Stop showing people how to be stupid.
When you tights the bolts stocks at 35 inch pound, the grouping is very small, not 40 inch pound no good,i test with the same ammunition and have a big difference.
Nice gun, brother. I just picked up a Savage 10 FCP-SR 308 with 3 10 round mags and the big tactical bolt handle today. Seeing all the sub MOA groups with it here on the RU-vids, I'm very excited to put a few boxes through it. Congrats 👍
do the sides feel solid or will they bend if you bang on them . are the sides solid steel or do you think if you had a hammer you could dent the metal .
If you worked at the shop you would understand why, we had quite a few close calls with mishandling live firearms and allowing people to take pictures on their phones only leads to straw purchases. Again, learned from experience.
The best ammo is Federal 168 gr smk gold medal match, with mine all a time half inch or 5,8 inches at 100 yards. The 10 fcp-k is a very good firearms and very accurate.
Ill tell you my address, whats in my safe, and accidentally leave a crowbar on my front porch. Humans have a lot of known weaknesses to bullets. Sounds like knowing what is in peoples safe is going to get you killed, its not worth your life, going to burglarize a home you know specifically has firearms here in the US
Are you the owner? I've stopped by the shop multiple times and I never see anyone around... apparently now we need to make appointments to visit the shop?
ReplicaBeast Yes I still use It and yes you can via the WiFi. There is also an app called Playmemories mobile that lets you take pictures with the camera through your phone and automatically saves them.
good shooting. just a quick question where is your camera mounted. I just got my gopro 3+ and I was wondering how or where to mount it so I can get good video when shooting
Thanks man and I just use the gopro head mount here is a link to it. Link: www.amazon.com/GoPro-GHDS30-Head-Strap-Mount/dp/B002PAX9QU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1404437826&sr=8-1&keywords=gopro+head+mount a little uncomfortable at time but it gets the job done.
No problem and yes the camera comes with a wall charger. So pretty much its just an ac adapter that you plug into a wall outlet then the wire from it hooks into the camera so you have to charge the battery while it is in the camera. If you want to see what that looks like you can skip to 10:53 in the video and I show what the charger and charging wire looks like. Now if you would want to charge the battery outside of the camera you would need a external charger like this www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009OZVIS0/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER also from amazon.. Thanks for watching.
Yes I would definitely consider Nikon optics and as a matter a fact a have one on my hunting rifle.. I have the Nikon Prostaff 4-12x40 BDC.. For the price it cant be beat in my opinion. It has vary clear glass that is nitrogen filled. Its fog, shock, and waterproof. Has good eye relief, nice turrets which I think can be customized if you want. But my favorite feature by far on my model is the BDC or bullet drop compensator which provides hold overs out to a certain range. All you have to do is go to their "spot on" ballistic software chose your scope and the ammo your using and it gives you the hold overs.. You can even go as far as the current temp, wind, elevation, and atmospheric conditions at the time to make the numbers even more precise.
Sorry im extremely late I didn't get the notification but prices have changed a lot since I put this rifle together. But when I did buy it I think the rifle was around $700, the Blackhawk base was $50, the scope rings can go anywhere from $15-$100 depending on what brand you want, you can spend whatever you want on a scope I think mine was around $300, the harris bi-pod was around $80 I believe, the carson cheek rest was $75, and the midway butstock pack was $25. So prob around $1200 all said and done.
hi i am look for a ten round mag for my 308 could you post a video as i can not get one here in Ireland all i have is a five which is not great when on range
