Entertaining, and hopefully informative videos delivered to you via RU-vid. This channel is about our travels. We have lots of video from many trips but most of it is not organized the greatest. We hope to change that.
We are Dana and Jodie and we have been to 50 states, or at least I have, Jodie has a few to go. We have been to four countries and hope to add to that total. We are not full-time travelers but most of our friends sometimes think we are.
After years of watching what others have put on RU-vid and finding inspiration, we decided that we have done enough to share our travels. We hope you find something of interest that we have shared.

Nice. What did you use for the curved corners? i would guess edging, is it buried? I have a downspout drainage underneath so if not buried is this ok? Because I think this would work for me. Thoughts? thanks
Dear Dana and Jodie, my name is Cathie Bingham and I live in the USA. I am the great niece of Private Emet Bingham, who also was KIA on July 18, 1918 in France. He as well is buried in Oise Aisne, plot B, row 1, grave 6. I have been the trip to Oise Aisne three times and plan to go again next year. I have a lot of info to share if you are interested.
That is kind of you. It was an emotional stop, for sure. When you go, how do you get there? We rented a car, but driving in a foreign country was adventurous.
@@AdventuresWithDanaJodie I was very lucky the first time I went my friends drove me from Paris. Since then I have friends who live in Fismes, which is closer. A few years ago I was able to obtain a Purple Heart and WW1 Victory Medal for my great uncle. It seems they closed his file after he was KIA and as a result none of those medals were ever given. Please let me know if you have any questions. I hope to go next year for Memorial Day and we certainly will pay our respects to Bryan Fellows.
That's so cool that Jodie lived there too!! Toni did a great job with the tour. I've taken my students there every year on school picture day. I can give that tour too!!
I am watching a lot of videos on bike packing and bike touring. Planning on a trip. You guys are funny. I appreciated all the information AND especially your take on things with the stipulation you are NOT super bikers since not everyone is ready for 50 or 100 mile off-road days. Me included. Stay safe and keep rolling.
Hey. I just realized that you are Dana the husband. Haha. My sister is Dana but it’s a name for both m/f. Like Dana White. Ok. Hope y’all are well! Have fun out there. ❤
You will need to remove grass. The concrete is about 2.5 inches, but there are several inches of compacted rock under that. Nothing that will decompose.
What I'm thinking of doing is a dry pour walkway but use a stone step mold to make the stone step pattern, then mist 2x and soak 6x or 8x times. See if it will hold the pattern until it dries.
I'm originally from Colona, Il. Been in Florida since i was 16. 52 now, we moved in 87. We used to swim at the locks all the time mainly from the Interstate 80 area and west towards Colona. They started clearing and cleaning up the cart roads the year we left for the paving the pathway. Thanks for posting!
This is one if my happy places to visit.but not in the summer time. I did thst once in July 2017. Never again lol. My proffered time to visit is late winter or early Spring. No leaves on the trees really opens up the place and it doesant feel so claustrophobic on the highway. Great video. I have a few of my adventures on my channel. Let me tell you there was alot less graffiti in 2013 on my first time there.
To be honest, if I had a helper and more time, I would do a wet pour but for what I wanted and needed, this worked great. I am going to mix up some portland cement into a paint like substance and put on a top coat so that the color all looks the same. I would not do a dry pour if there was heavy traffic. I have one more project that I'm going to do and will do this again.
You are correct. A control joint is used to control cracking while an expansion joint is designed to handle structural movement. I called it the wrong thing. However, the control joint has done what it was supposed to do. I do have one crack and it is at a joint.
You did a good job, the ready mix in the bag is already perfectly mixed just needs water to cure. Dry mix seems far less labor intensive. I suppose you can even make it better after the first mist by running a foam roller on it abd a fine broom to give it that line finish. Do a quick walkover video update and show us how it is.
I think it's amazing that everyone has the same water nozzle with the mist setting. I have it too, so I guess I'm destined to do a dry pour some day. Good job.
