My camera stand isn't very flexible so I can't adjust the angle very much. Plus this channel is more to document my progress and accomplishments, rather than prove anything. But if you watch my official attempts you can usually see the blindfold/blocker.
I have a question, how did you learn 3 style in the beginning? How long did it take you to learn it and become comfortable with it? How would you suggest going learning it?
First I stuck with my existing buffer UBR and made up my own algs. Then I eventually switched to UFR and chose algs based on other people's lists, some generated comms, and my personal preferences. Then I started edges and immediately switched to UF, using the same strategy as I did for UFR. I wasn't progressing very fast, so I think it took a year or two to fully switch and be comfortable. If I dedicated more time then it definitely could have gone much faster. I would recommend first getting used to some new finger tricks, in particular involving slice moves. Then switch to UF/UFR and pick algs from fast people's lists. If you don't practice the finger tricks before picking algs, you'll probably avoid a lot of good algs, which is bad in the long term. Then stop doing full solves, and just drill execution for a few months (use a program to generate memo or something). Then go back to doing full solves. Otherwise you'll probably keep some bad habits, and be too tempted to revert to your old method if you don't immediately know a case.
No, it was basically around the steady state, might have had a little spike depending on exactly what time we competed, but nothing compared to other events.
